SEPTEMBER IS SU***DE PREVENTION AWARENESS MONTH

Building Communities of Care Through Connection

Suicidal thoughts are real, and they affect people in our own communities—sometimes people we know and love without us even realizing what they are going through.

So, what can we do?

Sometimes it starts with something very simple: check on people. Ask how they are doing. Listen. Stay connected.

If someone seems overwhelmed or is going through a difficult time, don't be afraid to reach out. You don't have to have all the right words or know how to solve their problems. Just letting someone know that you care and that they don't have to face things alone can mean more than we realize.

Getting help early is important. Treatment and counseling can help, and having a safety plan—knowing the warning signs, who to call, and where to go for help—can make a real difference.

And our support shouldn't end after the immediate crisis is over. If someone has been in the emergency room, hospitalized, or has gone through a mental health crisis, keep checking on them. A phone call, a visit, or even a simple message saying, “I'm thinking about you—how are you doing?” can help someone feel connected.

We all have a part to play in creating a community where people feel comfortable asking for help.

Check on each other. Listen without judgment. Stay connected. And when professional help is needed, help them find it.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Support is available 24/7.

Always There When You Need Care™

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month

At Interim HealthCare, we believe connection can make a difference. The people in our lives—family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, caregivers, and community members—can be a powerful source of support when life becomes difficult.

Su***de prevention starts long before a crisis. Open conversations, trusted relationships, shared resources, and greater awareness can help people feel seen, valued, and supported.

Knowing the warning signs of su***de in adults, children, and teens can help us recognize when someone may need support and connect them with help sooner.

Together, we can:

• Strengthen relationships and trusted connections
• Talk openly about mental health and help reduce stigma
• Learn and recognize su***de warning signs
• Share resources and encourage people to seek help
• Check in on family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors
• Build communities where no one feels they have to struggle alone

Su***de prevention is a shared responsibility. Families, schools, workplaces, faith communities, health care organizations, and individuals all have an important role.

Sometimes a simple “How are you really doing?”, a phone call, a visit, or a moment of genuine attention can make a meaningful difference.

Connect. Support. Prevent. Together, we can help strengthen our community.

Conectar. Apoyar. Prevenir. Juntos podemos ayudar a fortalecer nuestra comunidad.

SEPTEMBER IS SU***DE PREVENTION AWARENESS MONTH

Stronger Together: Connect. Support. Prevent.

Su***de prevention is not one moment—and it is not one person’s job. It lives in the relationships we build, the support we offer, and the communities we create together.

Together, we can make a difference by:

• Strengthening connections that protect people before a crisis occurs
• Making sure everyone knows where to turn for help—before they need it
• Building communities where people feel safe reaching out and asking for support
• Supporting recovery and healing long after a crisis has ended

Su***de prevention touches every part of life—from families and schools to workplaces, faith communities, and health care systems.

When people feel connected, valued, and supported, they are more likely to seek help. And when communities come together around a shared commitment to prevention, lives can be saved.

At Interim HealthCare – Brownsville, we stand together with our community to promote connection, compassion, hope, and support.

Connect. Support. Prevent. We are Stronger Together.

SEPTIEMBRE ES EL MES DE CONCIENTIZACIÓN SOBRE LA PREVENCIÓN DEL SUICIDIO

Más Fuertes Juntos: Conectar. Apoyar. Prevenir.

REMEMBERING 9/11 — 25 YEARS LATER

Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, at 8:46 a.m., on a clear Tuesday morning, America came under attack.

American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. Just 17 minutes later, United Airlines Flight 175 struck the South Tower. At 9:37 a.m., American Airlines Flight 77 struck the Pentagon, the headquarters of our nation’s Department of Defense.

A fourth aircraft, United Airlines Flight 93, was also hijacked. In an extraordinary act of courage, the passengers and crew fought back against the hijackers. The aircraft ultimately crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, before it could reach its intended target.

That morning changed America forever.

We remember the innocent lives lost and the extraordinary courage of the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military personnel, healthcare workers, and countless others who responded when our nation needed them most.

Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives, including 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority Police Department officers.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, we honor every person whose life was taken, pray for their families and loved ones, and remember the survivors who continue to carry the memories of that day.

We also express our deepest gratitude to our first responders, Veterans, active-duty military members, and their families—and to all those who have sacrificed to protect our country and the freedoms we cherish.

At Interim HealthCare, we stand with the families and communities forever affected by September 11 and with all those who continue to serve our nation.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

May God bless the victims and their families.
May God bless those who serve and protect us.
And may God continue to bless the United States of America.
