🌵 Downtown Spotlight: The Cactus Mexican Restaurant 🌵
I’m a little late posting last month’s downtown spotlight, but better late than never!
This month (May) I’m featuring The Cactus Mexican Restaurant in downtown Brunswick.
✔️ Cool vibe inside
✔️ Cute outdoor seating
✔️ Good music , wasn’t typical Mexican restaurant music, it seemed to give it a different kind of vibe.
✔️ Friendly service
The real stars for me? The salsa, beans, and rice. Seriously. Sometimes the side dishes tell you everything you need to know about a Mexican restaurant, and these were some of my favorites.
I ordered the quesadilla and would give it about a 6/10. It was good, but not necessarily something I’d find myself craving later. That said, I definitely want to go back and try a few other menu items because everything else looked delicious.
But…. the spicy margarita 🍹🔥 — huge, refreshing, and pretty much exactly what a spicy margarita should be. Bonus points for the jalapeño garnish and generous pour.
Overall, I’d absolutely return. Good atmosphere, great chips and salsa, and enough on the menu for me to return and try something else.
