Research has explored whether botulinum toxin injections in the glabellar (frown-line) area may have an effect on symptoms of depression—and several clinical studies have reported improvements in depressive symptoms.

🧠 One proposed explanation is the facial feedback hypothesis: our emotions influence our facial expressions, but our facial expressions may also send feedback to the brain that influences how we feel.

Pretty fascinating for something we usually associate with smoothing frown lines!
