The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology

The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology ACEP is a nonprofit of licensed, allied health practitioners dedicated to energy psychology.

Energy Psychology (EP) is a family of evidence supported modalities that balance, restore and improve human functioning by combining physical interventions (using the acupuncture system, the chakras and other ancient systems of healing) with modern cognitive interventions such as imagery-based exposure therapy.

What if awe isn’t just a fleeting feeling—but a pathway to healing, connection, and resilience? ✨

In this ACEP blog, Lori Chortkoff Hops, PhD, DCEP, explores the science and experience of awe — from nature, music, and creativity to community, spirituality, and moments of deep human connection.

Research suggests that awe can help reduce stress, broaden perspective, support emotional wellbeing, and even shift how we relate to ourselves and others. Through the lens of energy psychology, awe can also help us reconnect with presence, openness, and the larger rhythms of life.

✨ In this blog, you’ll discover:
• How awe impacts the nervous system and stress response
• Why moments of wonder can increase connection and creativity
• Practical ways to cultivate awe in everyday life
• The relationship between awe, gratitude, mindfulness, and healing
• How community and shared experiences amplify wellbeing

Sometimes healing begins with simply slowing down enough to notice the beauty, mystery, and meaning already around us.

In this ACEP blog, Mary Nathanson, LCSW, EFTP, explores the intersection of herbal traditions, integrative mental health, and the energetic connections between mind, body, and spirit.

✨ Inside the blog:
• Research-backed herbs associated with stress reduction, mood support, and relaxation
• The connection between herbal energetics and emotional wellbeing
• Traditional perspectives from Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Indigenous healing practices
• Practical ideas for integrating herbs and aromatherapy into holistic mental health care

Mental and spiritual wellbeing are often strengthened through small, consistent practices that help us reconnect with ourselves and others. 💙✨

Simple habits like practicing gratitude, nurturing relationships, engaging in meaningful experiences, and offering kindness can positively support emotional resilience and overall wellbeing.

Energy psychology adds another layer to self-care by offering body-based techniques that help calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and support greater balance between mind, body, and spirit. Practices such as tapping, grounding, breathwork, and mindfulness can become powerful tools for daily regulation and restoration.

No matter where you are on your journey, small intentional actions can create meaningful shifts over time.

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” — Buddha ✨

As our ACEP conference community gathers for learning, connection, reflection, and growth, this quote feels especially meaningful.

So many helping professionals spend their days supporting others through stress, trauma, uncertainty, and healing. Conferences like this are more than educational experiences — they can also be acts of self-care. A chance to pause, reconnect, restore, and remember that your own wellbeing matters too.

Energy psychology reminds us that caring for ourselves is not separate from caring for others. Through mindfulness, grounding, tapping, breathwork, community, and nervous system support, we create space for greater resilience, clarity, compassion, and balance.

Whether you’re attending in person or online, we hope you’re taking time this week to nourish yourself as much as you nourish those around you. 💙

This morning, conference attendees explored big questions about consciousness, healing, and human potential with Phil Mollon, PhD, during his keynote presentation, The Physics of the Mind: Implications for the Practice of Energy Psychology.

Drawing connections between modern physics, subtle energy, and clinical practice, Phil challenged participants to consider new perspectives on how consciousness, perception, and healing may be interconnected.

Thank you, Phil, for sharing your wisdom and helping us expand the conversation around what’s possible in energy psychology.

What has been your favorite insight from the conference so far? We'd love to hear it in the comments!

Tonight’s opening keynote at ACEP’s 28th International Energy Psychology Conference is already setting the tone for an extraordinary week of learning, connection, and transformation.

“The Vital Voice: The Missing Link in Energy Psychology” with Eileen McKusick and The Brothers Koren invites attendees into an experiential exploration of sound, breath, voice, and the electric body — and how these powerful tools can support regulation, coherence, vitality, and healing.

From vocal toning to group resonance, this immersive experience reminds us that healing isn’t only something we think about… it’s something we embody.

Whether you’re joining us in Reston or livestreaming from around the world, we’re so glad you’re here. 💙
