Any time there is an excursion, deviation, or test failure an investigation must be started, corrective actions must be taken, and the actions taken must be shown to be effective.

Most organizations don’t struggle with USP compliance because they lack SOPs.

They struggle because the SOP is copied and pasted language from the chapter or because the staff ignore the well written SOP.

✅ Ensure SOPs capture what happens in YOUR operation. Copying language from the chapter is not enough.

✅ Remind staff that compliance with SOPs isn’t just a USP requirement, but an accreditation compliance must.
