A vote from you during the month of April could mean $500 for your Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service!

Radio Reading is excited to participate with Roy's Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical for a $500 grant. Each month, Roy's chooses three local nonprofits to compete. The nominee with the most votes for the month receives a check for $500. $500 can pay for an entire month of livestreaming Radio Reading programming!

Any email address can vote as often as once a day through April 25. If you have more than one email address, you can use each of them to vote once a day.

Congratulations to the Wyoming Foundation on its 50th anniversary!

Your Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service was proud to help celebrate with other grant recipients and supporters at a delicious evening event of food, drinks, and mingling at Farmcraft Brewery in Strykersville.

For five decades, the Wyoming Foundation has been investing in the heart of the Wyoming County community by supporting educational, arts, and cultural opportunities for youth and adults, strengthening local nonprofits, and enhancing quality of life.

The Foundation's work has been a force for good since 1976 and we look forward to its next 50 years, as Radio Reading serves its rural listeners.

Join your Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service for a fun-filled evening of laughs on April 15 at Comedy @ The Carlson in Rochester! Doors open at 6 PM.

Tickets are only $30 and include your first drink on us, food, and Western New York comedy legend Vinnie Paulino.

Visit www.nfradioreading.org for tickets now. Radio Reading volunteers are FREE!

With razor-sharp wit and a delivery that feels like a conversation with your funniest (and most cynical) friend, Vinnie balances high-energy observation with a fearless willingness to say exactly what everyone else is thinking. Beyond the stage, he interviews the A-list comedians who frequent Comedy @ The Carlson and hosts his own Who Are These Podcasts?

This laugh-filled evening is in support of the amazing volunteers who produce
all the free programming offered by Radio Reading to people with reading disabilities across Western New York, Greater Rochester, and Southern Ontario. Special thanks to Wegmans for sponsoring this event.

You won't want to miss Comedy for a Cause on April 15 at Comedy @ The Carlson in Rochester!

TOMORROW'S THE BIG DAY! Your Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service celebrates 39 years on the air serving listeners with reading disabilities!

Could you help us celebrate with a donation of $39? Here's what you'll be supporting:

1. We're the only service of its kind in New York State west of Albany.

2. Our programs are FREE to the 100,000+ people across Western New York, Rochester-Syracuse, and Southern Ontario with reading disabilities.

3. Programs are available through a special radio we'll loan listeners, through our website, in our mobile app for iOS and Android devices, and in the major podcast services like Spotify and iTunes.

4. All of our programs are produced by VOLUNTEERS, currently 160 strong.

5. There are few other services available for listeners to get human-voiced audio versions of some 80 national and local newspapers, magazines, and NY Times best-selling books.

Your Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service survives on the generosity of individual donors. We receive no regular government funding.

If you're able, we would appreciate a donation of $39 (or any amount) by mailing a check to our studios at 1199 Harlem Road, Cheektowaga, NY 14227 or clicking on the GIVE button in the top right corner of our website - nfradioreading.org - and choosing "where needed most."

THANK YOU!

Your Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service is excited to celebrate its 39th anniversary on March 19.

Since 1987, Radio Reading has offered audio versions of national and local newspapers, magazines, and best-selling books for people who can't read print. We do this to help ensure everyone has equal access to the news, culture, and entertainment they need to live and thrive as engaged members of their community and the world around them.

We're the only service of its kind in New York State west of Albany, volunteers produce all the programming we offer, and our programming is always free to the 100,000+ people across our Western New York-Greater Rochester-Southern Ontario region with reading disabilities.

Radio Reading survives upon the generosity of individual donors. In honor of our momentous anniversary, we encourage everyone who is able to visit www.nfradioreading.org, click on the GIVE button at the top of the page, and donate $39 to "where needed most."

You may also mail a check made payable to Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service to our studios at 1199 Harlem Road, Buffalo, NY 14227.

Donations to our 501(c)3 nonprofit are tax-deductible and will go directly into service immediately.

And let us know if you have ideas about celebrating our big 40th anniversary next year. Thank you!

Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service was honored this week to host a meeting of the Lions Club of Buffalo Host Club, with special guests Lions District Governor Jeremy Schnurr (in red next to banner, in first picture) and Cabinet Zone Chair Bill Weisbeck (far left in yellow, in first picture)!

Radio Reading was very appreciative of the Buffalo Host Club's generous $2,200 grant to promote our new mobile app. The mobile app is available free for iOS and Android devices. It provides the easiest access to all programs, wherever listeners are and on their own schedule.

The meeting included the presentation of a thank you plaque by Radio Reading Board Members Frauke Stoffel and Chuck Nellis to Club President Kevin Smith. The District Governor also presented plaques to two Club members for their longtime, exemplary service.

The Buffalo Host Club meets at the 3108 Main Street office of Radio Reading affiliate Western New York Independent Living. For more information, including membership, contact Club President Kevin Smith at 716-836-0822.

March is a special month on the calendar for your Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service.

Not only is it Women's History Month, but it is National Developmental Disabilities Month, Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month, Trisomy Awareness Month, Brain Injury Awareness Month, and Save Your Vision Month.

A lot to ponder.

Check out our social media pages throughout the month for more about these important topics.
