Spectrum News 1 Buffalo included a story about Title X Family Planning funding conditions. Christopher Spicer, Chief Business Development officer, for Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc., shared that most of our patients don’t have access to care through other means and continued funding is critical.

Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. is calling for a swift, patients-first resolution to a multistate lawsuit challenging new federal conditions on Title X family planning funding, warning that continued uncertainty could disrupt access to care for thousands of patients across Western New York. Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. receives Title X funding through the New York State Department of Health’s Comprehensive Family Planning and Reproductive Health Program, placing the health center directly within the funding stream now at the center of the case.

NOTE: Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. remains committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care throughout the litigation and will continue working with patients, community organizations, and healthcare partners across Western New York to protect continued access to these services.

Attorney General Letitia James is leading the challenge to new conditions tied to Title X.

Our Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. sponsored and participated in the Masjid Nu'Man 30th annual Putting the Neighbor Back in the Hood event on Saturday, August 8. Held at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, the free event was hosted by the Masjid Nu'Man, an Islamic Center located in the heart of East Buffalo. This year’s theme was “From Roots to Resources,” and the event included a community walk, food, an awards ceremony, music, family-friendly games, and community resources.

Putting the Neighbor Back in the Hood began in 1996 as a community effort led by Masjid Nu'Man to help build model communities through service, unity, and community engagement. Inspired by a call to strengthen the neighborhoods, volunteers came together to clean streets and parks, support local families, and assist seniors. Today, the initiative brings together people of all backgrounds to celebrate community, recognize local leaders, and inspire neighbors to build stronger, safer communities. The event has been recognized by the City of Buffalo for its positive impact on neighborhood relationships.
