The universe has been speaking and so I’m listening. Several of the people who’ve registered for this upcoming sound bath are walking with grief in one form or another so we’re dedicating this sound bath to grief.
Grief isn’t always associated with someone’s passing; sometimes we grieve st/ages of our lives that have passed, sometimes we grieve a relationship ending, or a loved one aging who can’t maintain the roles they used to be in, the end of a career, and of course our furry family members crossing over. Pre-grief is the grief for what we know someday will end. Mildly, at the end of summer, even as I look forward to fall, I’ve felt a whisper of grief for the passing of summer.
However, losing a dear loved one... that kind of grief is the fine print in the contract that we sign with the loving of another person. Our culture does a wildly SH*TTY job of allowing for grief, in the acute or later stages. For, it’s an emotion that cares not about the length of time it’s been since your loss or what your job’s demands are. Grief happens in a nonlinear framework. Sometimes it lingers as a smoldering ember nearly undetectable under the facade of “I’m fine, everything’s fine.” Other times it unexpectedly pops in like a thick strand of hair buried in the cheese of a bite of your favorite pizza, ruining your whole meal, and maybe even driving you from enjoying things you normally love, like that pizza shop you can’t go to anymore. Only worse. Because it’s not that pizza you can’t enjoy anymore. It’s the absence of the physical presence of someone no longer walking earth side.
Grief also doesn’t go away just because we kinda ignore it. Undigested, it festers. Will this sound bath help you process all that grief and transform it on the spot? Of course not. However, we will honor grief - what ever kind of grief. At some point everyone experiences some form of grief. And if you don’t have specific grief right now, you can still come and honor this universal human emotion. Enjoy the sound bath and know that either you’re being held or you’re contributing to holding space for someone else. Link in bio to register @ bodylanguage.offeringtree.com
