Join us for a soulful evening at the Taylor Theater on May 19th for the Kenan Center’s Rhythm & Sound Sessions. Made possible by the organizing efforts of Matthew Knott, this event features a warm tapestry of didgeridoo, harmonium, bass, guitar, and percussion.

These photos are from our rehearsal, which went so well and has us excited to share this experience with you alongside Ed Koban, Pete Fronio, Jon Lambert, and Matt Rutschmann. The session runs from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM with an admission of $11.20.

Taking the practice on the road.

This Friday, May 8th, I am heading to Fredonia College to give a presentation on the healing qualities of community kirtan. This gathering is designed to help students and faculty release end-of-semester stress and find resonance through collective sound.

This also marks a personal milestone, as it is the first time I am taking this work outside of my hometown to engage with a new community.

Event Details:

Friday, May 8th, 2026

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Rockefeller Arts Center, Room 272

Let’s transmute that stress into harmony.

Chanting on the daily has been my goal recently, trying to make it a regular practice throughout my week. This one means finding a sense of grounded peace and selfless love through the power of sacred sound.

Just wanted to send some good energy your way and wish you all a beautiful start to the week.

Hari Om is a sacred Sanskrit mantra that combines "Hari," the remover of suffering and ignorance, with "Om," the primordial vibration of the universe. When chanted or spoken as a greeting, it serves to clear negative energy and acknowledge the divine connection between all beings.

It is widely used in meditation and wellness practices to focus the mind and invite a sense of universal peace.
