Thank you to everyone who joined the 7th Annual World Sickle Cell Day Marathon.

For 24 hours, our global community came together to educate, advocate, collaborate, and act. Your presence, voices, stories, questions, and engagement helped make this event meaningful and powerful.

We are grateful to every warrior, caregiver, speaker, sponsor, partner, volunteer, and participant who helped us raise awareness and strengthen the conversation around this year’s theme: Closing the Survival Gap: Equity in Sickle Cell Disease.

This work does not end with one event. Together, we will continue pushing for better care, stronger support, greater access, and lasting change for individuals and families impacted by sickle cell disease.

In addition to World Sickle Cell Day, today, Cayenne Wellness Center honors Juneteenth — a day of freedom, remembrance, resilience, and recommitment.

As we celebrate liberation, we also recognize the ongoing work needed to close health equity gaps that continue to impact Black communities, including those living with sickle cell disease.

Freedom means access. Freedom means dignity. Freedom means equitable care, education, advocacy, and support for every warrior and every family.

This Juneteenth, we celebrate our history, honor our ancestors, and continue the work toward a healthier and more just future.
