🌟 Empowering Seniors Expo: Education, Connection and Community 🌟

The Empowering Seniors Expo brought together seniors, caregivers and community partners for a day focused on health, wellness and aging well.

Texas Health team members from Trauma Services, Emergency Services, Stroke Services, the Breast Center, Heart & Vascular, Physical Therapy and several other departments were on hand to share valuable health information, screenings and resources. Attendees also explored MARGE, MILTON and MILO, our larger-than-life inflatable educational exhibits that make learning about the digestive system, lungs and heart both fun and memorable.

The event was made possible with the help of more than 30 Texas Health Community Time Off (CTO) volunteers, who welcomed guests and helped ensure a great experience throughout the day.

A special thank you to Texas Health Burleson and Texas Health Willow Park for sponsoring transportation, making it easier for seniors to attend and benefit from the event's valuable resources and educational opportunities.

Together, we're helping empower older adults with the knowledge, support and connections they need to live healthier, more independent lives. ❤️

For years, many women heard a simple message about hormone replacement therapy (HRT): avoid it. That message was passed down from mothers, grandmothers and even some doctors. Today, the guidance looks very different, and a lot of women are left wondering what is actually true.

We’re proud to recognize the incredible team at Texas Health Burleson Cardiac Rehabilitation after receiving a heartfelt letter from a grateful patient, Don Newbury, who praised the care and support he has received through the program.

Having attended cardiac rehab on three separate occasions over the past five years, Mr. Newbury shared that the Burleson team, led by Laura Wald, has consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, patience, compassion, and dedication to every patient they serve. He noted that although other rehab facilities are closer to his home, he gladly travels the extra distance because he believes he is receiving the very best care.

Mr. Newbury described the team as "exceptional in their work, eager to help, patient with us 'old-timers,' and deeply committed to professionalism." His words are a powerful reminder of the difference our caregivers make every day in the lives of those recovering from heart-related health challenges.
