What is home health care? If this is a topic you've heard the title of or something you've found yourself searching up the meaning of, you're not the only one.

Home health care is medical care delivered directly to our patients in their homes. Provided by licensed professionals, such as registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, physical therapists and more, this type of care is prescribed by a doctor and allows patients to receive the care they need while safely recovering at home. People heal faster at home, with familiar surroundings lowering stress levels, making home health care an option that makes a real difference in a patient's recovery.

“Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” (Proverbs 31:28)

Good morning. I want to take a minute today to thank the moms of Concordia. The backbone in many ways of what we do here is through the hard-working moms. Moms with 2 full time jobs. One of wife and mom, and one here at Concordia. They work so hard at both. Someone said, “A man works from sun to sun, but a woman’s work is never done” and how true that is. Thank you ladies for all you do for your families, and all that you do for our employees, and all that you do for our patients, and all you do for our residents!! You work so hard here and then go home and have so much work to do at home. So, we thank you, and we honor you. And I pray it is not just one day a year, but that you are appreciated every day of the year for all that you do every day of the year. You are a tremendous blessing. And may the Lord richly bless you for all that you do!

💙Recently, the Leadership Team at Concordia Home and Community Services gathered for a meaningful Spiritual Retreat during their monthly management meeting. Guided by our Spiritual Care Supervisor, Pastor Lott, the team participated in a powerful workshop titled, “The Road to Jerusalem Goes Through Ziklag” based on I Samuel 30:1–6.

The retreat served as a reminder that while our mission drives us every day, we do not always get to determine the path God uses to shape and strengthen us. Through reflection, fellowship, and spiritual encouragement, our leaders were challenged to trust God’s guidance even through seasons of uncertainty and adversity.

At Concordia, we remain committed to leading with faith, compassion, and purpose as we continue serving our residents, families, and one another.

“I am not what I ought to be.
I am not what I want to be.
I am not what I hope to be.
But still, I am not what I used to be.
And by the grace of God, I am what I am.”
John Newton

“But by the grace of God I am what I am” (1 Corinthians 15:10)

Good morning, I am so thankful for the grace of God. Grace is that unmerited favor. None of it we deserve, but His amazing grace makes it possible. One of things we should do regularly is look back on our life and see how God has blessed us in the past, helped us get past our past, provided for us when we didn’t know how it would happen, give us comfort when we needed it, and made a way when it seemed there was no way. And when we do these things, it gives us great comfort for the present, and faith for the future. Comfort in knowing that the God who helped us in the past is with us today, and faith because we know that He will be just as much God in our tomorrows, as our yesterdays.

Take comfort in a little chorus that I learned as a child, that has stayed with me all these years:
“He’s still working on me,
To make me what I ought to be.
It took Him just a week to make the moon and the stars,
The sun and the earth, and Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be,
Because He’s still working on me.”
