🇺🇸 Honoring a Veteran of Two Wars 🇺🇸

Canyon County Quilters had the privilege of presenting a Quilt of Valor to U.S. Marine Corps Captain Harold H., whose service to our country spans two wars.

🦅 U.S. Marine Corps — Captain Harold H.

Captain Harold served during World War II from 1943–1945. Following the war, he returned home and attended the University of Idaho.

In 1950, his country called upon him once again. Harold returned to military service during the Korean War, serving from 1950–1953.

More than eight decades after his World War II service began, it is our privilege to recognize Captain Harold H. and wrap him in a Quilt of Valor as a symbol of our gratitude.

🇺🇸 Honoring Six Veterans with Quilts of Valor 🇺🇸

On August 28, 2026, Canyon County Quilters had the privilege of awarding Quilts of Valor to six deserving veterans.

At Arbor Village in Boise, we honored five veterans:

✈️ U.S. Air Force
🇺🇸 David “Dave” B.
🇺🇸 Elaine L.
🇺🇸 Ervin R.

🪖 U.S. Army
🇺🇸 Pamela N.

⚓ U.S. Navy
🇺🇸 Terry S.

We then traveled just down the road to Heatherwood, where we had the honor of presenting a Quilt of Valor to:

🇺🇸 William S.

Each quilt is made with many hours of love and volunteer service, but its greatest purpose comes when it is wrapped around the shoulders of a veteran.

To David, Elaine, Ervin, Pamela, Terry, and William — thank you for your service to our country. It was our honor to recognize you. ❤️🤍💙

🇺🇸 Community Supporting Veterans — Thank You! 🇺🇸

Canyon County Quilters recently received generous donations from three local organizations to help purchase supplies for Quilts of Valor:

❤️ Marsing American Legion
🤍 Caldwell Bowl Veteran Appreciation Association
💙 Trinity Trailer MFG

Our volunteers provide all the labor, but materials for each quilt cost approximately $500. These donations help turn fabric and thread into a lasting expression of gratitude for a local veteran.

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, Canyon County Quilters had the honor and privilege of presenting seven deserving veterans with their Quilts of Valor during a special ceremony at the Western Idaho Fair.

On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, we had the honor and privilege of presenting nine veterans with their Quilts of Valor in recognition of their service to our country.

🇺🇸 HONORING OUR VETERANS AT THE OWYHEE COUNTY FAIR 🇺🇸

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, Canyon County Quilts of Valor had the privilege of recognizing four deserving veterans during a special Quilt of Valor presentation at the Owyhee County Fair.

We were honored to wrap these veterans in quilts made with gratitude, respect, and appreciation for their service to our country:

🇺🇸 Robert “Rob” Mariano of Marsing — U.S. Army
🇺🇸 Donald Mounts of Homedale — U.S. Army
🇺🇸 David Perea of Marsing — U.S. Coast Guard

Each Quilt of Valor represents far more than fabric and stitches. It is a tangible expression of our community’s gratitude for the sacrifices made by the men and women who have served our nation.

To Randall, Rob, Donald, and David — thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to our country. It was our privilege to honor you and welcome you into the Quilt of Valor family.

We also extend our appreciation to the Owyhee County Fair for allowing us the opportunity to recognize these veterans in front of their community.
