The Abandonment Wound begins the moment a woman learns that love is not something she can trust to stay.

Maybe someone left, withdrew, or stopped showing up emotionally and/or physically. Maybe the people who were supposed to feel safe felt inconsistent, unpredictable, distracted, or out of reach.

Maybe she was left in obvious ways.
Or maybe she was left in the quieter ways that are harder to explain.

A parent who was physically present but emotionally unavailable.
A caregiver whose love changed with their moods.
A home where she never knew what version of someone she was going to get.
A relationship where affection disappeared the moment she had needs.
A childhood where being deeply loved did not feel stable.

She learns that connection can vanish.
That closeness can shift without warning.
That love can be there one moment and gone the next.
That safety is fragile.
That people leave.
And if they do not leave physically, they may leave in every other way.

She becomes hyper-aware and can reads tone changes like survival signals. She notices distance before anyone names it. She feels the shift in a text message, a silence, a sigh, a pause, a look.

She becomes the woman who tries to hold on before anything can slip away.

The Abandonment Wound lives in the woman who fears being left, forgotten, replaced, or emotionally dropped.

It lives in the woman who over-gives so people have a reason to stay, clings when she feels distance, panics when someone pulls back. A woman who becomes anxious in silence, tries to be easy, useful, beautiful, or indispensable.

Who leaves first sometimes;

Sometimes she becomes the one who chases and sometimes she becomes the one who shuts down.

Sometimes she says,
I donโ€™t need anyone.

But beneath that is often a very old ache whispering: Please donโ€™t leave me too.

This wound can make love feel like something she has to secure.

So she works for it, performs for it, overextends for it, proves herself for it. She tries to become unforgettable so no one will walk away.

A woman may spend years trying to earn permanence from people who were never rooted enough to offer it.

She may confuse anxiety with love.
Attachment with safety.
Pursuit with devotion.
Emotional volatility with passion.

She may keep choosing people who recreate the original wound โ€” not because she wants pain, but because pain that feels familiar can masquerade as home.

Healing begins when she realizes:

Not everyone who leaves is abandoning her.
Not every shift in energy means she is unwanted.
Not every silence means she is being rejected.
Not every ending is proof that she is hard to love.

And most importantly,

She heals by learning to stay with herself in the moments she used to panic.
By soothing the part of her that expects disappearance.
By noticing when fear is writing the story.
By choosing relationships that feel consistent, honest, and safe โ€” not just intense.

The medicine of the Abandonment Wound is not becoming detached. It is becoming anchored.

It is learning:
I can survive someone elseโ€™s leaving without leaving myself.
I can feel fear without becoming ruled by it.
I can want closeness without begging for crumbs.
I can stop chasing people who only know how to love me in uncertainty.
I can become a place inside myself that stays.

This does not mean the wound never aches. It means the ache no longer controls your choices. Because the woman who heals abandonment stops building her worth around whether other people stay.

She stops pleading with instability to become commitment.
She stops confusing longing with alignment.
She stops treating inconsistency like love.

And slowly, she becomes someone who no longer says,
Choose me. She says, I choose what feels safe, clear, and true.

Good morning, my beautiful Wild Moon women ๐ŸŒ™

This is one of your favoritesโ€ฆ and honestly, one of mine too.

Itโ€™s been a little while since weโ€™ve played, and it feels like the perfect moment to bring it back.

โœจโœจโœจ

For all friends + followers of Wild Moon Wellness

I have a little intuitive โ€œpracticeโ€ I love to do. Many of you already know it and have joined in before. Itโ€™s a gentle way for me to tune in, listen, and let intuition lead.

Simply comment โ€œ๐— ๐˜† ๐—ช๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฑโ€, and I will intuitively share a single word with you --although sometimes Spirit has more than one word to share๐Ÿ˜˜

The word may resonate immediately
or it may land later, when you least expect it.
I donโ€™t always know how itโ€™s meant to show upโ€”only that itโ€™s what comes through when I think of you and listen.

Nothing is ever meant to be hurtful or heavy. This is playful, loving, and rooted in curiosity and trust. I love hearing whether it resonates, so feel free to share if it does.

Iโ€™ll be responding over the next few days, so if you donโ€™t hear from me right away, know that I havenโ€™t forgotten you.

When my energy for this has depleted, Ill update the main post to say DONE

The Mother Wound begins in the place where a woman should have first learned she was safe to be loved.

Held. Seen. Comforted. Protected. Celebrated. Guided. Allowed.

Maybe her mother was physically there, but emotionally far away.
Maybe she was critical, cold, overwhelmed, jealous, wounded, controlling, unavailable, unpredictable, or lost inside her own pain.

Maybe love came with conditions.
Maybe comfort came with guilt.
Maybe tenderness was rare.
Maybe the daughter became the caretaker.
Maybe the daughter learned not to need too much because her mother already needed everything.

And so the wound forms quietly.

Not always through cruelty. Sometimes through absence or silence. maybe through comparison to others.
Or even through emotional hunger or unavailability passed from one generation of women to the next.

It lives in the woman who wonders:

Why wasnโ€™t I enough for her to soften?
Why couldnโ€™t she protect me?
Why did I have to become so strong so young?
Why do I still want comfort from someone who never knew how to give it?
Why didn't she like me?

This wound can make a woman question her own worth before she even understands what worth is.

She may grow up becoming hyper-independent, painfully anxiious, overly responsible, terrified of being a burden and/or drawn to people who feel familiar, even when familiar means emotionally unavailable or abusive.

She may become the woman who mothers everyone else while secretly wishing someone would mother her.

She becomes the listener, the fixer, the peacekeeper.
The one who knows how to read moods before she knows how to name her own and the one who holds everyoneโ€™s feelings because no one knew how to hold hers.

A daughter may spend half her life trying to earn the love she should have received freely. But healing begins when she realizes her motherโ€™s limitations were never proof of her own unworthiness. A mother can give only from the places within her that are healed, open, and available. And if she never learned this or felt seen by her mother, she may not have had the tools to make the changes.

And sometimes, a daughter has to grieve not only what happenedโ€ฆ but what never happened.

The apology that never came.
The softness she never received.
The protection she still needed.
The words she kept waiting to hear.
The version of her mother she kept trying to reach.

This grief is sacred.

Because the Mother Wound cannot be healed by pretending it didnโ€™t hurt. It heals when a woman stops abandoning herself in the same places she was abandoned. It heals when she learns to become a safe place for the little girl inside her.

What did I need then?
What do I need now?
How can I mother myself without betraying myself?

This does not mean she has to hate her mother.
It does not mean she has to forgive before she is ready.
It does not mean she has to understand everything, excuse everything, or carry what was never hers.

It means she is allowed to tell the truth.

She is allowed to grieve.
She is allowed to be angry.
She is allowed to love her mother and still name the wound.
She is allowed to protect herself now in ways no one protected her then.

The medicine of the Mother Wound is not becoming harder.
It is becoming deeply, fiercely nurturing toward yourself.

It is learning to speak to yourself with the tenderness you craved.
It is learning to believe your needs are not too much.
It is learning to stop begging closed doors to become homes.
It is learning that mothering is not only something we receive.

Sometimes it is something we reclaim, so the mother we needed becomes the woman we are learning to be.

The Good Girl Wound begins the moment a woman learns that love is easier to receive when she is agreeable, polite, quiet, helpful. when she is pretty, but not too proud, smart, but not intimidating, emotional, but not inconvenient, successful, but not threatening and/or angry, but only in ways that make other people comfortable.

She learns to soften her truth so no one feels uncomfortable, to smile when she wants to scream, She learns that being liked feels safer than being honest.

And slowly, without realizing it, she becomes a woman who knows how to perform peace while abandoning herself.

The Good Girl does not always look weak or meek.

Sometimes she is the responsible one.
The dependable one.
The one who remembers everyoneโ€™s birthday.
The one who says yes before checking in with her own body.
The one who makes it work.
The one who doesnโ€™t want to be a burden.
The one who holds everything together and calls it love.

But beneath all that goodness is often a very tired little girl who learned:
โ€ขDonโ€™t make them mad.
โ€ขDonโ€™t need too much.
โ€ขDonโ€™t be difficult.
โ€ขDonโ€™t disappoint anyone.
โ€ขDonโ€™t ask for more than they are willing to give.

So she becomes easy to love by becoming hard for herself to live inside.

And this is the wound.

Not her kindness, generosity, softness or emotional depth. Those are sacred.

She was simply trained to confuse obedience with worthiness.

But there comes a day when the Good Girl starts to hear a deeper voice inside her.

I am allowed to stop explaining myself to people committed to benefiting from my silence.
I am allowed to be kind without being compliant.
I am allowed to be loving without being available for everything.
I am allowed to be good without being gone.

And a free woman may still be soft.

She may still be generous and thoughtful and warm.

But now her goodness includes herself.

That is the medicine.

Not becoming cold, cruel or untouchable.

Becoming honest. Becoming whole. Becoming the woman who no longer trades her truth for approval. Becoming truthful to herself.

Hey girl
I know the feeling.

Waking up exhausted before the day even begins.
Feeling stuck between who you areโ€ฆ and who you know youโ€™re meant to become.
Overthinking everything.
People-pleasing.
Carrying stress, grief, resentment, burnout, and pretending youโ€™re โ€œfine.โ€

You donโ€™t need another motivational quote.
You need a reset.

The Unf*ck Yourself Retreat was created for the woman who is ready to finally release whatโ€™s been weighing her down and come back to herself.

This weekend is deep healing, shadow work, nervous system reset, laughter, breakthroughs, rituals, connection, and remembering the woman underneath the survival mode.

You are not broken.
You are buried underneath too much that was never yours to carry.

And itโ€™s time to let it go.

Sunday Magic

Sunday carries the energy of the Sun โ€” warmth, vitality, clarity, abundance, and light.

Itโ€™s one of the best days for home magic.

Not the kind that has to be complicated.
Just the kind that reminds your home it is sacred.

Open the curtains.
Light a candle.
Sweep the floors with intention.
Simmer orange, cinnamon, and rosemary on the stove.
Bless your front door.
Call your energy back home.

Sunday is a beautiful day to clear out the stale, welcome in the good, and set the tone for the week ahead.

Try this simple Sunday blessing in your home:

โ€œMay this home be filled with peace.
May this home be protected.
May this home hold warmth, joy, and abundance.
May all who enter here feel safe and loved.โ€

Your home feels your energy.
Tend to it gently.
Bless it often.
Let Sunday be the day you bring the light back inโ˜€๏ธ

_____________________________________________________

Today I am making black salt and going to do a protection circle around my acreage. It's been a couple years since I've done this and have been feeling the need to create that energetic boundary. I should have done it yesterday, but alas, the day got away from me.

We (my husband and I) are very careful with who we allow on to our property. It's our sacred land, our safety zone and the place where we can completely be at ease.

Not everyone who you allow into your space has the best intentions or good energy and they bring that with them and leave little breadcrumbs of crap that your energy sweeps up.

I don't want a home I don't feel comfortable in, and if that means I literally gatekeep my property from people, then so be it. I am ok with that. Protecting my peace comes first.

What are your Sunday plans today? Share with me, I'd love to hear what you're up to.

The wound of being the good girl.
The wound of being invisible.
The wound of being too much.
The wound of being abandoned.
The wound of being unchosen.
The wound of being silenced.
The wound of being betrayed.
The wound of being taught to fear your own power.

And because no one named them, We called ourselves needy, dramatic, broken, and difficult.

We were labeled too emotional, too guarded, too sensitive and just way too much.

But what if these were never personality flaws? What if they were survival instincts.

What if the parts of you that feel the hardest to love are not wrong but just wounded?

Over the next several posts, weโ€™ll walk through the feminine wounds many of us carry in silence.

Not to stay inside them.
Not to make them our identity.
But to finally see them clearly enough to stop letting them run our lives. Because we are tired of them running our lives.

Because a wound that is witnessed can become a doorway and the woman who stops abandoning herself and walks through that doorway, becomes very, very hard to control.
