I love the vibrancy of this afghan! Red, purple, aqua and bit of pale green. Would be great for a boy or even in a classroom!

I originally picked up this yarn because it reminded me of the Autism ribbon/heart and Aspergers is in our family, so it's close to my heart.

Crocheted in classic Tarnished Texan pattern.

This afghan is one of my all time favorites! It's made in ultra soft yarn of tangerine and watermelon pink and is a perfect transition to take us from summertime to fall.

You can see the size of of this throw on our loveseat in the last photo. This is considered a full size afghan.

This would also be a precious gift for a girl's room! The 3rd pic shows the truest colors.

I need to move some products!
Ya'll ready for a BIG sale! I know it's still heat-advisory-weather here in Texas and I'm actually still in "backyard make-over mode" here, but some of ya'll are starting to see cooler weather, and back to school for some people have ya'll thinking of FALL!
And guess what? I actually ordered my first CHRISTMAS present and it's being delivered TODAY! WHAT?!? I'm so ahead of the game that I thought I'd do a big ol' clearance sale and maybe you guys would want to start some of your own Christmas shopping with homemade items from me.

And the first few afghans I'll be posting will be the PERFECT transitions from summer into fall with their brighter colors but warmer comfort!

I know most Labor Day sales don't start until Friday but have y'all EVER known me to do what most people do???

I didn't think so!!!

First pics have been taken!! Sale starts TODAY!!!!

I rarely go to my personal page on Facebook. I'm always on the Feed, either on my phone or my laptop. I knew I had this odd selection of "featured" photos FB had somehow randomly selected like 4-5ish years back and I tried to change them a long time ago and then promptly forgot about it until a few days ago when I noticed a feature where I could ADD more pictures.

So...yesterday I started messing with it, and realized I could remove the old ones I didn't want there to begin with.

As I played with it and thought about what I wanted highlighted from my life for people who may randomly stop by my personal page, I realized how perfectly my life fit into those 9 available squares.

4 kids (+1 awesome son in law)
Rick
My parents
3 dogs

This is my life.
And I love it.

We bought a Jeep and it's fabulous.

This weekend was the first weekend that we've had it where it's been sunny with a zero percent chance of rain so we stripped this baby down to nothing!
Top off and doors off and the radio up!
Tank tops and cut off shorts and 90* and even though we have the Harley, this is different.
The Harley is boots and jeans and GEAR and having to be almost extra alert because of passive drivers on the road whereas the Jeep is all about LAID BACK and FLIP FLOPS.

Like for real. Not kidding. They even put an imprint of flip flops on the hood vent by the windshield wipers.

And this color is called Firecracker Red and I'm not even going to try to defend why this is a good fit for me.

Our sweet Keiko girl has been diagnosed with cancer.
Basically breast cancer.
I guess it never dawned me that dogs could get cancer.
And she has it bad. She's apparently filled with tumors. The vet visit was very bleak and he said we could do surgery but with her age and her other health issues (she's deaf, mild arthritis in her hips, has bad skin allergies and has seizures) that he really didn't recommend it and he could almost guarantee it would be back within 30 days IF she survived the surgery. She's not to the point where she's ready to be euthanized but Rick and I don't see her making it through the summer.

Ironically, in our pet cemetery, she'll be laid to rest next to Ambush and where I planted the periwinkles this year, they just aren't growing well at all. It's like they knew they won't be hanging around this year.

We lost Sassy and Ambush last year.
Now we're losing Keiko.
Casanova is 10 like Keiko. Raiden is 9.
We knew all the dogs would be aging together and we'd lose them like this, kind of like a domino effect.

Knowing it doesn't make it hurt any less though.

Friday's Five
Been way too long since I've done a post, much less a Friday's Five. I've been working on daily gratitude and it dawned on me this morning as I was writing it down that I should combine the two! So here we go, sharing my Friday Five Gratitude:

1: My daddy! He turned 81 yesterday!! Go to my personal page Brenda Bobo Sanders to see his pic! I'll be hugging on his neck this afternoon to tell him Happy birthday!

2. Lifelong friendships! I got a text from one of my very first forever friends a few days ago, Nikki Rodenbeck. She lives in California now and I haven't seen her in YEARS. I've known her since Kindergarten, ya'll! We are FORTY NINE. Well, I've been 49 since October. She just turned 49 TODAY!!! I've known her since we were just 5 years old. That's 44 years of friendship. That's something remarkable and I love her big. Help me wish her happy birthday! She texted me a few days ago to see if I MIGHT be in our old neighborhood, since I now live 3 hours south because SHE was in town from California. It just so happens that yes, I will be because of Dad's birthday! So by TONIGHT, I will be hugging my sweet friend that I haven't seen in WAY.TOO.LONG.

3. Sleeping with the windows open because it's springtime in Texas, even when the trains go through town in the middle of the night.

4. Birds chirping outside my office window as the sun rises.

5. A new bloom on an old rosebush.

It may be other people's birthdays but my goodness, it seems to me that I'm the one getting all the gifts here!

I hope your last weekend in March is filled with as many lovely gifts as mine is lined up to be! Laugh a lot, love even more, and soak in as much as you can!
