Moriah’s Surgery & Recovery Journey

Just wanted to share some good news about Moriah!

She’s officially back home and recovering well. We’re very grateful that everything went smoothly, and she’s really happy to be back home.

Here’s a fun fact from her trip: Moriah was the 1,125th patient to have this surgery with Dr. Richard C. Hsu at Stamford Hospital, and she’s the second patient from Kansas to travel there for the procedure.

Of course, recovery will still take time, but she’s doing great, one day at a time. Thanks to everyone who has checked in, prayed, and supported her🤍

A little update🤍

My MALS surgery went well, and I am so thankful. During surgery, they found an inflamed celiac plexus and a low-lying median arcuate ligament. After the procedure, blood flow through my celiac artery was restored, which is exactly what they were hoping to accomplish.

Right now, I’m focused on resting and recovering one day at a time. I know healing won’t happen overnight, but I’m grateful to have the surgery behind me and hopeful for what the coming weeks and months will bring.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me, donated, sent messages, and supported me throughout this journey. Your kindness and encouragement have meant more than I can put into words.

I’d appreciate your continued prayers as I recover and regain my strength. I’m so thankful for a successful surgery and looking forward to seeing what healing looks like from here🫶🏼

Medical Update 6/17/2026

We’ve all settled in Stamford, CT, over the past few days. Moriah had her pre-op appointments on Monday, and we just checked in for her MALS surgery this morning. The surgery is expected to take about 2-3 hours. After recovery, she’ll likely be in the hospital for 5-7 days. Once she’s released, Moriah and our mom will stay in Stamford for 7-10 days for her post-operative appointments. Please keep us in your thoughts this morning for a safe and successful surgery and a speedy recovery. I’ll share another update after the surgery. We truly appreciate all the prayers, love, and support we’ve received during this healing journey! 💕
