Your body doesn't speak in full sentences—it speaks in tension, breath, and sensation.
When you spend long periods carrying heavy stress, your nervous system can slowly adapt to living in high alert. You might not feel explicitly "scared," but your body continues to brace for impact anyway.
You might notice yourself clenching your jaw while answering emails, breathing shallowly throughout the afternoon, or feeling a sudden spike of annoyance at small noises.
These aren't signs that you are broken or doing life wrong. They are protective signals from a body that is working hard to keep you safe. The goal isn't to force yourself into calm immediately, but to offer your body small cues of safety so it can begin to settle.
A Quick 60-Second Resonant Reset:
1. Drop your shoulders away from your ears on your next exhale.
2. Unclench your jaw and let your tongue rest gently on the floor of your mouth.
3. Touch your thumb to your index finger as you inhale, then your middle finger on the next inhale.
4. Extend your exhale just a little bit longer than your inhale.
5. Say gently to yourself: "Safe enough right now. I can soften."
