Everyone meet Marcus! 🏀

Marcus is one of our patients and has been such a pleasure to get to know. We recently learned that he played Division 1 basketball at Kansas State and is now traveling overseas to play professionally in Europe in hopes of making it back to the NBA. It has been so fun hearing about his basketball journey and all of the opportunities it has brought him.

Last week, Dr. Utterback attended the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine annual meeting in Chicago, where he spent three days learning about the latest advancements in sleep health.

In addition to the educational sessions, he enjoyed reconnecting with colleagues from across the country who also provide oral appliance therapy for their patients.

He’s excited to put all those new insights to good use! 🦷💤

We’re excited to share that Dr. Utterback is participating in a live webinar TONIGHT with ProSomnus Sleep Technologies!

He will be part of a panel of industry leaders discussing how innovative oral appliance therapy is transforming patient engagement and outcomes in sleep apnea care. This is a great opportunity to learn more about non-CPAP solutions and how technology is enhancing the patient experience.

Dr. Utterback was recently invited to be a guest on Forum 360, which will be airing on PBS in late May. The segment will also be featured on two Cleveland-area radio stations, helping bring greater awareness to sleep health and treatment options in our community.

Dr. Utterback's oldest daughter, Laurel, is wrapping up her second year of law school at Case Western Reserve University. To Dr. Utterback's surprise, Laurel chose to follow in her dad's footsteps by focusing on sleep apnea for her note, a law school thesis that she constructed comprising 47 pages 😳.

Her Note, "DoT the I's and Cross the T's: A Wake-up Call for Transportation Safety," explores the prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea among commercial drivers and proposes legal solutions to improve safety. Her work earned "Note of the Year" at CWRU and will be published in Volume 37 of Health Matrix: The Journal of Law-Medicine, one of the nation's leading health law journals.

Laurel is looking forward to gaining more experience in corporate, healthcare, and transportation law as a 2026 Summer Associate at Benesch Law in downtown Cleveland. Great work, Laurel!
