About me & how I got here…

I’m a PA and the founder of Santa Casa Center integrative medicine practice (which came to me 14 years ago while praying in an adoration chapel)

I’ve been on QUITE a wild journey to get to this point!

A few things you might not know about me….

Inspired by my own journey through infertility and the experience of having a child with severe failure to thrive, I knew I wanted to help others get to the root-cause of, and overcome their own health difficulties

Get to know Santa Casa Center’s provider Lauren VanBuren a little better.

I’m a PA with a passion for whole-person, functional medicine, fertility and helping families feel empowered in their heath!

My path into medicine started with an experience I will never forget!
While shadowing in an Emergency Dept., I had the opportunity to assist during a full code.The patient survived, it was incredibly powerful!

I’m a coffee snob,
A ‘’plant mom’”, Love making things from scratch, and the beach is my happy place!

After my husband and I experienced unexplained infertility, and then becoming a mother to my miracle baby, Medicine has ALWAYS felt like more than a career to me!

We are excited to announce SCC is growing! Lauren has availability starting Oct 2nd. If you’re hoping to be a patient at Santa Casa Center, I’d book now while there are openings as we are otherwise about to be booking into Jan 2027. Lauren VanBuren, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant with over 15 years of experience in clinical medicine. She holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Springfield College and is passionate about personalied, whole-person care that supports health and well-being across every stage of life.
With a foundation in comprehensive pediatric medicine and experience in integrative and holistic approaches, Lauren is dedicated to understanding the individual needs of each patient and family. She believes in combining thoughtful clinical evaluation, evidence-based medicine, and a collaborative approach to help patients achieve optimal health. Her pediatric experience includes caring for children and adolescents with both routine and complex concerns, including ADHD/ADD, PANS/PANDAS, and Lyme disease. Lauren also has a particular interest in women’s health, fertility, NaProTECHNOLOGY, and hormonal health. Her own experience with infertility has given her a personal appreciation for the challenges many couples face when trying to grow their families and has deepened her passion for helping women identify and address underlying causes of reproductive and hormonal concerns.

Beyond the Office
Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband Brad, 5-year-old daughter Ryleigh and their dog Nola. She enjoys exploring new recipes, the beach when time allows, and embracing life in Georgia. She is delighted to be a part of Santa Casa Center and looks forward to building meaningful, lasting relationships with patients and their families.

September is PMOS Awareness Month, dedicated to educating the public about Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, which was previously known as Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS)

Most GYNs treat PMOS/PCOS with the 🚫birth control pill to “regulate” the cycle🚫, which takes an abnormal system and makes it even more abnormal.

-charting cycles with the Creighton model
-using bioidentical progesterone
-addressing insulin resistance with diet, exercise, continuous glucose monitors, and other tools
🚫Using the birth control pill to treat PCOS/PMOS shuts down an abnormal system, making it even more abnormal
