Happy Wednesday, rookies! This momma is just getting out of bed, but before I do, I say my daily affirmations:
-Jesus is trustworthy, is FOR me, and is proud of me. He understands me completely. In Him I have access to complete freedom and abundance.
-God chose me to be Adam's wife and Ian's momma, to be part of this beautiful family; my best is enough. In my weakness, His power is revealed.
-I am purposeful in my movements and thoughtful in my speech. In all things, I take my time.

Ok, this product ranks in my top 5: OnGuard hand sanitizing mist! I’ve got them stashed everywhere because not only do they purify just as well as traditional gel sanitizers, but they smell like chai. Yep, you read that right: CHAI. Every time you use it, it’s like being transported back to leaves and scarves and pumpkin spice lattes.
And because it’s from and is completely non-toxic, I feel totally comfortable using it around my precious 3-month old, so I always keep one at the changing table so I can clean my hands after changes (if you saw his diapers, you would too, you know what I’m saying?).

We’re currently in the middle of an out-of-state move and believe you me: I have ZERO idea where anything is and this sad fact makes me crazy. BUT, I made sure my oil bag is in the car along for the ride, and before we left, I whipped up a few of my favorite “must have” rollerball blends for easy access on the road.
Peppermint, Lavender, Lemon: seasonal support. This blend is great for seasonal allergy relief! I roll it on the bottoms of my feet, my wrists, back of my neck, and (very carefully) at my temples. Be careful getting peppermint anywhere near your eyes!!! 😢
Lavender and Peppermint: soothe and cool. I LOVE this blend and use it almost everyday. I carry a lot a tension in my neck and shoulders, so I roll this blend on my traps and the back of my neck. The cooling of the peppermint along with the soothing of lavender can’t be beat!
Cedarwood, Balance, Lavender, Frankincense, Wild Orange: sleep support. Cedarwood, Balance, and Lavendar are like the triple-threat to ensure a good night’s sleep, if you ask me. Cedarwood supports your body’s production of melatonin, Lavender is known for its calming effects, and Balance is doTERRA’s grounding blend that fights anxious emotions. Combine this powerhouse combo with Frankincense and Wild Orange, both of which are anti-inflammatory and boost immune function, and you’ve got sleep in a bottle. I roll this on the bottoms of my feet and on my chest and neck at night.

I started this account several weeks ago and then deleted it overnight. I kept thinking, “How could I share my knowledge about essential oils when I DON’T HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ESSENTIAL OILS?!”
“Unqualified,” was the primary word that kept rolling around in my mind, along with other words like, “fear,” “failure,” and “doubt,” and if I’m honest? They’re STILL rolling around in there...
But it’s 1:47am and I woke up thinking about this AGAIN. And I went to bed tonight after, just like EVERY NIGHT THIS WEEK, searching Instagram for recipes and ideas on how to better care for my family and myself using these oils. Because in spite of my fears and uncertainties, I believe in these oils and their amazing benefits. THERE, l SAID IT, I’M A BELIEVER. Why is it so hard for us to admit that things are important to us sometimes?
Basically, here’s what I’m saying: I’m an essential oil rookie. No doubt about it. I still have SO SO MUCH to learn. But if you want to learn about oils WITH someone, walk this journey towards greater health and wellness ALONGSIDE someone...if you want a community to LINK ARMS WITH...well, it just so happens: I’m putting a squad together. That’s right: ROOKIES UNITE.
Calling all the unqualified, the unsure, the doubters, the fearful, the not-even-close-to-perfects: you’re welcome here. Because here, THIS, is a place for ragtag rookies just doing the best they can everyday, showing up for their lives, to be ok with not having it all together...or at least, we’re trying to be.
