We had the best time at the Etowah River Park Summer Classic this past weekend!

We’re incredibly blessed to support and connect with this amazing community each week, and this event was such a great representation of what Cherokee Run Club is all about—an inclusive community built around encouraging, supporting, and showing up for one another.

We’re grateful to have been a small part of it. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, and made the morning what it was and congrats to all 650 of the amazing runners 🤘🏼

Stuck in the injury cycle?

Most runners don’t need more rest - they need better load management, smarter progression, and improved capacity.

If you’re tired of setbacks and want to get back to running stronger, shoot us a DM 👊🏼

At Function Forward Physical Therapy, we believe most running injuries shouldn’t put you on the shelf. You shouldn’t have to stop doing what you love just because something starts hurting.

But not all pain during training is just “normal soreness.”

Here are 3 signs your running pain may need more attention:

1️⃣ Pain that gets worse during your run
2️⃣ Pain that lingers for several days after running
3️⃣ Pain that makes you change your stride or limp

These are often signs that your body isn’t tolerating the current training load well.

The good news: most running injuries respond really well to the right combination of strength work, load management, and movement analysis.

If something feels off, it’s usually much easier to address it early.

📩 Send me a DM if you’re dealing with a nagging running injury or want to keep running pain-free.

Whether your injury is small or large, acute or chronic - we’re here to help. When we seek medical care for our injuries, we’re often told to “just stop running” or to “let it rest” just to return back with the same injury or worse. In my opinion, these recommendations are often (but not always!) misguided. The missing link is often a thorough examination, where the many of the complex factors contributing to your injury are revealed.

At Function Forward, we aim to provide you with the best care in order to keep you doing what you love. Our appointments are 1-on-1 and we emphasize an open line of communication throughout your plan of care, because we don’t want to just see you at our office - we want to see you running by us at the park with a smile on your face.

If you’re dealing with a nagging injury and want some expert guidance on how to move forward, our DM’s are always open 😁
