It's Marketing Monday! June is observed as Men's Health Month, which includes Mental Health!

June is a vital period dedicated to breaking the stigma around emotional struggles, addressing the "silent epidemic" of trauma, and encouraging men to seek help.

Taking Action & Showing Support

• Start Open Conversations: Break the ice by simply asking, "How are you doing, really?" and listening actively without judgment.

• Normalize Seeking Care: Actively dismantle the
stigma that therapy or asking for help is a sign of weakness. Reframe it as an act of strength and proactive care.

• Utilize Professional Resources: Advocate for gender-aware care and encourage leveraging support networks and hotlines.

It’s Marketing Monday! June is Men's Health Awareness Month! This month, at Donaldson Edge Advocacy, Inc., we will be recognizing the importance of Men’s Health.

Men’s Health Month is a time to raise awareness about the health and well-being of men and encourage healthy habits at every age. It’s also a reminder about the importance of regular checkups, preventive care, staying active, and paying attention to changes in health. Men are less likely than women to seek medical care and are more likely to choose unhealthy behavior. Take charge of your health. Schedule your preventive care screenings ASAP!

ACCESS: supporting access to affordable, quality healthcare regardless of. I love hearing the impact of the other 3 heart chambers. It’s “Talk About It Tuesday!” Donaldson Edge Advocacy, Inc. and Donaldson Edge Consulting, LLC will be recognizing Mental Health Awareness all month long!

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Anxiety disorders are the world’s most common mental disorders, affecting 359 million people in 2021. More women are affected by anxiety disorders than men.

Self-care can play an important role in supporting your mental health. To help manage your symptoms of anxiety and promote your overall well-being, you can:

-avoid or cut down on alcohol and don’t use illicit drugs, which can make anxiety worse;
-exercise regularly, even if it’s just a short walk;
-stick to regular eating and sleeping habits as much as possible and eat a healthy diet;
-learn relaxation techniques, such as slow breathing and progressive muscle relaxation; and
-develop the habit of mindfulness meditation, even if it’s just a few minutes per day.
