There’s still time to PLAY your part in Youth Sports Giving Day! 💙

The dollar-for-dollar matching pools may be exhausted, but the donation boosters aren’t done yet.

Every remaining gift made online through September 15 is eligible for a boost through the Incentive Fund — meaning your generosity can still go further to help create more opportunities for kids and young people to experience the joy, confidence, connection and growth that come through play.

Here’s the play: participating nonprofits receive a share of the Incentive Fund based on the percentage of eligible donations they raise after the initial matching pools are exhausted.

So keep the PLAY going! Every gift matters, every donation helps, and there’s still time to make a difference. 🏔️💙

⏰ Give by September 15 at 11:59 PM MT

Our President & CEO, Amy Grogan, and Chief Operating Officer, Conlan McGough, were grateful to spend time at the 2026 Colorado Summit in Breckenridge this week—surrounded by more than 400 professionals, leaders, advocates, and partners committed to advancing the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

The Alliance Summit is Colorado’s premier gathering for the IDD community—a space to exchange ideas, share strategies, build connections, and strengthen the future of the IDD system. And this year, we’re bringing a few reflections home with us:

🤝 We are stronger when we work together. The challenges facing people with IDD and their families are bigger than any one organization. Collaboration, partnership, and shared advocacy matter.

❤️ The work is deeply human. Behind every policy, program, funding decision, and system conversation are people and families whose lives are directly impacted by our collective efforts.

🌱 There is important work ahead. And we’re grateful to be doing it alongside so many thoughtful, committed leaders across Colorado and beyond.

🧠 Different perspectives make us stronger. Dr. Temple Grandin’s closing keynote was a powerful reminder of the value of different perspectives, strengths, and ways of seeing the world.

Thank you to the Alliance for creating the space to learn, challenge one another, build relationships, and keep moving this work forward.

(Plus, it’s a bonus when you get to do this important work in beautiful Breckenridge, CO. 💙)

We’re incredibly grateful to the Snowmass Village Rotary Club for their generous $4,000 grant! 💙

This meaningful gift helps us provide vital autism services throughout the Roaring Fork Valley—from clinical services and outdoor therapeutic recreation to vocational supports and employment opportunities for adults with autism.

It also helps strengthen our summer camp program, which welcomes more than 100 families from around the world each year. Our farthest-traveling camp family joins us all the way from the Cayman Islands!

Thank you, Snowmass Village Rotary Club, for believing in our community and helping create meaningful opportunities for individuals with autism and their families to thrive

Going Up: Freddie’s Love of Elevators 🛗💙

For Freddie, elevators are more than a way to get from one floor to another—they’re a favorite interest, a source of joy, and an adventure all their own.

His family has shared that Freddie loves to ride elevators, watch them, and even find YouTube channels featuring people riding elevators through hotels and high-rise buildings. If he spots an elevator in a building, there’s a very good chance he’s going to want to ride it!

And he’s not alone. Freddie has peers who share his fascination with elevators. At Common Senses, the organization founded by Freddie’s mom, Kate, that shared interest inspired "Going Up", an event created specifically for families who love elevators. In its first year, Going Up was an elevator scavenger hunt that gave families the opportunity to ride elevators all over the city together.

When Freddie’s family was approached about supporting Ascendigo’s capital campaign, contributing toward an elevator was an obvious and meaningful fit. Beyond Freddie’s love of elevators, his parents, Roger and Kate, are strong advocates for accessibility.

And now, there’s an extra-special connection: Freddie’s picture is featured on the outside of Ascendigo’s elevators.

What began as a favorite interest has become part of the Ascendigo story—bringing joy, creating connection, and helping make our spaces more fun and accessible for everyone.

Sometimes, it’s the things we love most that help us see what’s possible.

Austin is gaining valuable hands-on experience through a paid work opportunity with Smiling Goat Ranch! From animal care and handling to supporting daily ranch operations, he’s building practical skills while making a meaningful impact.

This weekend, Austin helped bring SGR’s annual Hay Bale Ball to life by showcasing ranch animals and connecting with donors who support the ranch’s mission. Smiling Goat Ranch provides free, nature- and animal-based programs that foster connection, growth, and well-being throughout our community. 😃 🐐🌿
