Three years ago, Carmel Therapy Network eagerly welcomed our very first dietitian, Keely, and we became a multidisciplinary practice. We worked well together from the start because we shared a common goal: making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Little did I know .rd would go on to become our Clinical Director and such an important part of the heart of this practice and our growth. Keely, thank you for three years of dedication, leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to both our team and the clients we serve. Thank you for being detail oriented, spell-checking, organized, and systematic.

You have helped shape CTN into what it is today. I appreciate your intentionality with trauma-informed care. Through your steady presence, willingness to jump in wherever needed, and genuine care for those around you, you have been an incredible support to our dietetics team and the practice as a whole.

I am incredibly grateful for your partnership, wisdom, and the countless ways you support our clinicians, dietitians, and community. Your impact is undeniable, and the growth of this practice has been made stronger because of your contributions.

Congratulations on three years with CTN. We are so fortunate to have you, and I can’t wait to see what the next three years brings.

Happy CTN Anniversary, Keely!

Polyvagal Institute is not just another place to learn about Polyvagal Theory—we are its founding home. Our co-founders include Dr. Stephen Porges, PhD, who developed the theory, and Deb Dana, LCSW, who brought it into clinical practice, ensuring our work is grounded in the original science and its real-world application.

What that means for our community of global learners:
• Direct access to source-based knowledge
• The most accurate, up-to-date education on Polyvagal Theory and the vagus nerve
• Educational offerings shaped by the theory’s originators and leading practitioners
• A global network committed to integrity, depth, and ongoing discovery

As interest in the nervous system and vagus nerve continues to expand, we remain dedicated to offering education that is not only accessible—but precise, nuanced, and deeply informed.

This is where the work began—and where it continues to evolve.

We are excited to share that Carmel Therapy Network is opening office location number two in Carmel this July!

As our practice has continued to grow, we have quickly filled our current team and are incredibly grateful for the support from our clients, community, and referral partners.

Our new Carmel space will include five beautiful new offices and allow us to continue expanding access to trauma-informed, integrative care in our community.

We now have openings again for therapy and medical nutrition counseling. We are currently looking to add a few additional full-time trauma-informed therapists and dietitians who are excited to grow alongside our team in this new space.

Resumes can be sent to [email protected]

We are honored to serve Indiana and Michigan. Thank you!

As a therapist specializing in trauma, attachment, and nervous system work, this is something I spend a significant amount of time teaching both clients and clinicians about.

Attachment responses are some of the most overlooked nervous system patterns after trauma experiences. Many people come in to therapy with limerence experiences that were previously attributed to as “just anxiety“.

is often misunderstood as intense or anxious attraction, but underneath it is frequently something much deeper.

Sometimes what feels like love is actually the nervous system searching for safety, certainty, reassurance, or attachment after experiences of inconsistency, trauma, betrayal, emotional neglect, or relational wounds.

Limerence can feel consuming:
• obsessive thinking
• emotional dependency
• intense longing
• fear of rejection or abandonment
• difficulty feeling regulated without the other person (codependency)

Unlike grounded connection, limerence is often fueled by uncertainty and attachment activation rather than true emotional safety and stability. It typically is a stress response.

Healing is not about shame. It’s about understanding the nervous system, attachment patterns, and learning what secure connection can actually feel like.

At Carmel Therapy Network, we support individuals navigating trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, relationship patterns, and nervous system healing through trauma-informed therapy and integrative care. Our clinicians are regularly being trained in going *deeper* than traditional talk therapy.

Happy Friday! Today our team at Carmel Therapy Network spent time together in a DBT training focused on continuing to grow, learn, and better support the clients and community we serve. We practiced and trained in our mindfulness skills and module one work.

One thing we value deeply at CTN is ongoing education and collaboration. As a group, we prioritize monthly trainings to strengthen our clinical skills, support one another as professionals, and continue providing thoughtful, trauma informed care.

So incredibly thankful for a team that genuinely loves learning, growing, and showing up for this work together.

Wishing all a restful holiday weekend!

Have you ever said “yes” when you really meant “no”? That tug to keep others happy can be more than learned habit. It might just be your nervous system’s learned way of surviving trauma experiences. Typically, the fawn response allows us to be 'less threatening' and appease our actual or perceived threat.

At Carmel Therapy Network, we see the “fawn” response show up as boundary struggles, chronic people-pleasing, and the exhaustion of self-abandonment that affects relationships, school, and work.

How do we support working through the fawn response? By combining evidence-based therapies with integrative nervous system awareness, specialized supports to help you rebuild safety.

We currently have virtual sessions available across Indiana to increase access to care. Ready to take the next step? Visit www.carmeltherapy.com to learn more or book an appointment.
