Meet HPCC's October Certificant of the Month: Carlie Pierorazio, MSN, CRNP, ACHPN®!

Carlie shared how certification has impacted her both personally and professionally: "Earning HPCC certification has been a transformative milestone in my professional journey. It has deepened my knowledge, validated my expertise in hospice and palliative care, and empowered me to provide more compassionate, evidence-based care to patients and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

Professionally, it has opened doors to leadership opportunities and enhanced my credibility among peers and interdisciplinary teams. Personally, it has reinforced my commitment to lifelong learning and reminded me of the profound value of our work in improving quality of life."

Join an HPCC Passing Point Study (PPS) Committee!

Want to play a role in helping establish the standards for HPCC certification exams? The PPS Committees are responsible for determining the passing point, or minimum standard to pass the certification exam.

HPCC is currently seeking volunteers to serve on the ACHPN®, CHPLN®, and CHPN® PPS Committees.

HPCC Certificant Spotlight!

Meet Jackie Kendrick, CHPCA® the President and CEO of Treasure Health and a proud CHPCA®. Jackie was recently featured in the article "Treasure Coast Hospice launches new website to make Hospice referrals easier."

When asked about the personal and professional impact of HPCC certification, Jackie shared:

"Since earning my first Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center certification" in 2012, it has had a real and lasting impact on my career. Professionally, it served as a credible, third-party validation of my expertise in hospice and palliative care — something that opened doors to organizations that may not have considered me otherwise. It signaled to employers and search committees that I had a demonstrated command of the clinical, ethical, and operational aspects of this field, not just years of experience.

That credibility played a direct role in my advancement. As I moved into larger organizations, the certification gave hiring committees confidence that I brought a validated level of expertise to leadership decisions — ultimately contributing to my selection as President and CEO of a large not-for-profit hospice and palliative organization, Treasure Health.

Personally, the certification process deepened my own confidence in my hospice and palliative knowledge and judgment and reinforced my commitment to the field. It wasn't just a credential to list — it was a marker of expertise that I could stand behind, and one that continues to inform how I lead and represent my organization today."
