I chose sleep over my 5:30am meditation practice this morning. There’s an old version of me who would have felt guilt all day and given myself negative self talk of not being spiritual enough or open to manifestations.

Why are we so hard on ourselves and often our worst enemy?

But today, I gave myself compassion, enjoyed the extra sleep and morning snuggles with Wilder and took to a slow morning. No guilt. And guess what??? I’m still a spiritual being! 🤣🤪

While I do LOVE my daily morning meditation, stretch, and reading routine before everyone wakes up, I also see that rigidity doesn’t help you. This is true for all sorts of goals btw!

Have you ever been rigid and hard on yourself for your self care practices? Maybe there’s room for a little more ease and balance 💗🌟

23 weeks pregnant and more than halfway there! Lately these warm days have me curious about what May and June will bring 😅 on the plus side I’m looking forward to getting back into more frequent walks! I’ll be honest it’s been much harder this time around since I already have a little one with a schedule to sorta stick to....and winter.

When I was pregnant with Wilder I was getting in multiple miles a day! My current goal isnt mileage based but thinking short walks spread all throughout the day will be a good start. Walking is so good for pregnancy! (Or anyone!)

I am so honored to have shared space with amazing women these last five weeks at 🙏 Our first prenatal series, Caring for Mama, came to a close last night and I am feeling so grateful. Connection during pregnancy is so important, whether that is to community/baby/body/inner wisdom - it all matters. I am amazed at the women who showed up each week to commit to this connection and care.

Last night we pulled this beautiful card from the Soulful Woman deck, Surrendering. How fitting for the pregnancy journey! It's affirmation reads: "I honor the truth in surrender as it opens me to gifts of divine grace"

This card lets us know that we are supported and can trust our path ahead. The universe wants to support you 🌟

“My surrender is not an act of defeat or a denial of my needs but an act of healing and an opening to divine grace. This grace bestows many gifts – joy, patience, compassion, strength, courage and, of course, a stronger connection to the limitless flow of love.”

May invite more surrendering & compassion into your pregnancy/birth/motherhood experiences. Tap into that inner wisdom within and the wisdom of the mothers who have walked this path before you ❤️

Thank you for sharing space with me and entrusting me to be on your journey.

Stay tuned for more prenatal yoga offerings next month!

Namaste 🙏

Come drop on in! Movement during pregnancy is so important for many reasons. Did you know that more exercise during this time can reduce the chance of c-section, reduce risk of gestational diabetes, and promote appropriate maternal and fetal weight gain?
It also supports mental health, can create community, offer support, and prepare the body both physically and mentally for birth! 🌟

Expecting mamas! Join us THIS THURSDAY 2/2 at for prenatal yoga!

This class (and series) is designed to hold space for Moms to be and offer tools of support of the ever changing physical and emotional needs that arise during this time. In this series we will explore breathwork, meditations, pelvic floor work and yoga. There will be pregnancy specific movement (and not a class full of restorative poses), breathwork, meditation and connection💗

Bridge Pose in pregnancy is a must! This is great for engaging the pelvic floor and glutes. Can also help stretch the back and loosen the hip muscles!

**The later in pregnancy you are, I suggest supporting yourself with a block or bolster**

ALSO, for enhancing your connecting to the pelvic floor and activating those muscles appropriately, EXHALE (& engage) on the UP!

Is bridge part of your practice? 🧘‍♀️

Mom guilt! I have a whole list of examples I could cover on this topic, but today I’m focusing with the most timely one....and that was Yesterday.

Overall as a mom, especially in the earlier postpartum months with Wilder, I have not dedicated enough time for self care...mom guilt and even partner guilt (if that’s a thing) would take over.

Here’s my example:

I had Monday/yesterday off, but Wilder’s daycare was open so I sent him anyway. The mom guilt was telling me that I should want to always spend my time off with Wilder. That sending him to daycare while I go off and enjoy my day is selfish.

But here’s the thing...it’s not selfish! In fact, it’s so needed.

Why is self care so hard for us moms/women?!

Leading up to Monday I had doubts...”maybe I should just keep him home and squeeze in Me Time during his nap only.”

But NO

I took him...and I had a wonderful day of filling my cup 🙌

Without pressure or rushing around...totally in flow, I was able to:

*Meditate
*Journal
*Finish a book
*Finish a chapter of another book
*Do some Pilates
*Watch 30 min of tv
*Give myself a facial
*Take a bath
*Do another longer meditation
*Cook delicious foods
*Did zero laundry and cleaning except dishes after my elaborate meals I made

My list of things I wanted do to could have gone on, but I was gentle with my time. I did miss out on a walk but that’s ok!

I really want with this next pregnancy and postpartum experience to be different in this aspect. I know mom guilt will come up, but I also know that having a full cup is so much better (for everyone) than a depleted one 🙌

Share your mom guilt experiences below! 💕
