Got injured on a fat loss journey? That does not mean you're done.
Had a coaching call this week with one of my clients. He picked up an injury and felt like it was about to wreck all his progress.
Here's what I told him.
Working out is part of the equation. It is not the whole thing. Your diet and nutrition is doing 80 to 90% of the work when it comes to losing fat. So an injury slowing down your training does not mean your results stop.
There's always a modification and other muscle groups or movements you can train around the injury. Frustrating? Yes. A reason to quit? No.
Reframe it. Use this time to actually heal it right. Stretch it. Do the PT work. Strengthen around it. Come back stronger instead of coming back hurt again.
Injuries are part of the journey for a lot of guys, especially former athletes. How you respond to them is what separates the guys who give up from the guys who keep building.
