DID YOU KNOW? 💡

Eagle Valley Children’s Home is largely privately funded.

Our Residential Program receives Medicaid reimbursement to support the care provided to our residents, but we do not receive federal or state grants to support our programs. And our Respite Program is 100% privately funded.

That means the generosity of individuals, families, businesses, foundations, and community partners is essential to helping us provide the care and support families in our region depend on.

For 80 years, our community has helped make Eagle Valley a place of lifelong care, dignity, stability, and home for people with profound intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This is why community support matters. ❤️ And this year, our 80th Anniversary Gala is one of the ways we're bringing our community together to celebrate 80 years of Heart, Hope & Home—and help secure the future of Eagle Valley.

🍷🍫 Meet Our Wine Partner: Scott’s Wine Taste!

We’re thrilled to welcome Scott’s Wine Taste as our wine partner for Eagle Valley Children’s Home’s 80th Anniversary Heart, Hope & Home Gala!

As an Independent Wine Curator & Concierge, Scott will be hand-selecting wines specifically to complement the handcrafted chocolates featured in our Artisan Wine & Dessert Experience—creating thoughtful pairings designed to bring out the best in both the wine and the confection.

And that’s not all! Scott will also be bringing some of his personal favorites for guests to explore, including a selection of bubbly, red and white wines. 🥂🍷

In 2025, Eagle Valley Children’s Home’s In-Home Respite Program supported 79 families across our community.

For families caring for a child or adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities, respite is more than a break. It provides time to rest, take care of everyday responsibilities, spend time with other family members, or simply recharge—knowing their loved one is receiving compassionate, individualized care.

For 80 years, Eagle Valley Children’s Home has been committed to strengthening individuals, families, and our community. Our Respite Program is one of the important ways that commitment continues today.

79 families supported. 79 families strengthened. And countless moments of care, connection, and hope.

We are incredibly honored to share that Eagle Valley Children’s Home has been voted 1st Place – Best Nonprofit / Service Organization in the 2026 Best of Carson City Awards!

And because this recognition comes from our community, it means so much. 💙

For 80 years, Eagle Valley has been providing compassionate care and support to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the families who love them. From our residential program to our Respite Program, our work is about creating opportunities, building relationships, and making sure the people we serve are known, valued, and supported.

We’re grateful for opportunities to connect with community partners and share more about the work happening at Eagle Valley Children’s Home.

Recently, our Respite Program Coordinator, Jodi Towne, had the opportunity to meet with the Carson City Kiwanis International Club to talk about our Residential and Respite Programs, the individuals and families we serve, and some of the needs we continue to see across our region.

One of the most important parts of our work is making sure families know that resources and support are available when they need them. That starts with building awareness and connecting with the people and organizations who make up our community.

We're grateful to the Carson City Kiwanis members for their interest in learning more about Eagle Valley Children's Home and for the opportunity to connect, share our story, and build relationships.💙

🌱 Growing something special together! 🍅

Our clients have been busy caring for the garden, and their hard work is literally coming to life! From tomatoes and squash to an artichoke, every new leaf, blossom, and vegetable is something they can be proud of.

There’s something pretty amazing about planting, watering, caring for something—and then getting to watch it grow. For our clients, the garden is more than vegetables. It’s a hands-on reminder that when you nurture something with care, wonderful things can grow. 💚

We’re celebrating 80 years of Heart, Hope & Home with an evening designed to delight—and an opportunity to help shape the next 80 years.

Our inaugural gala will feature an Artisan Chocolate & Wine Experience, bringing together three talented local chocolatiers whose handcrafted creations will be paired with carefully selected wines.
