🧠 FUN FACT FRIDAY: Can your brain feel pain?
TRUE or FALSE? 👀
The answer might surprise you: FALSE!
The brain tissue itself doesn’t have pain-sensitive nerves. So when you have a headache, the pain isn’t actually coming from the brain tissue itself.
Instead, pain-sensitive structures around the brain, including the meninges and blood vessels, can generate pain signals that are then sent to the brain for processing.
Basically...
Your brain can process pain without the brain tissue itself feeling pain. 🤯
Did you guess correctly?
