This might look unusual… but it’s training the brain to become more balanced. 🧠
⚖️ Balance beam training
Walking forward and backward strengthens the vestibular system, which is tied to focus, coordination, posture, and emotional regulation.
🦶 One sock on, one off
In the Melillo Method, changing sensory input on one side of the body helps stimulate and activate the opposite side of the brain. This gives targeted input to weaker or underactive brain regions to help improve balance between the hemispheres.
🧠 Why that matters
When one side of the brain is underperforming, kids may struggle with:
• Focus and attention
• Coordination and balance
• Emotional regulation
• Reading and processing
This exercise challenges the brain to stabilize, adapt, and communicate more efficiently.
