She came to us for PT. This time, she got even more out of it with OT!

This sweet girl has joined us for PT intensives before — but this was the first time she was able to pair our PT intensive with our OT program, made possible by our scholarship program.
~
And what we accomplished together stopped us in our tracks.
~
Our OT program is the first of its kind — combining Astronaut Training, Rebound Therapy, and Visual Motor work alongside fine motor skills and ADLs. We’re unlocking the visual piece that most programs aren’t even addressing.
~
Here’s what one intensive looked like for her:
* We started with a full assessment of how the 6 muscles around each eye were moving — helping us understand eye teaming and discover that tracking objects up close was being limited by difficulty aligning her eyes and farsightedness.
* From there, we encouraged consistent wearing of her prescription glasses to address the farsightedness, and began every single session with our Astronaut Training protocol — a program designed to activate the sensory systems and facilitate reflexive eye movements that build toward more intentional tracking and an increased attention span.
* Our skilled OT team then identified the most beneficial ways to integrate vision and motor — building the hand-eye coordination and depth perception she needed to successfully engage with her environment.

The result? Sustained visual engagement — up close — for improved utensil use and real participation in play. 🥄👁️
