Scammers are getting better at impersonating real artists and studios, so keep an eye out for these red flags:

🚩 Unusual or personal payment methods
🚩 Pressure to book or send money immediately
🚩 An artist reaching out to you first
🚩 Suspicious account activity or inconsistent work
🚩 Refusing to let you verify their identity

If you’re ever unsure, stop and verify. Contact the studio directly through their official website or social media, not through the account messaging you.

Ever wonder how Sarah Xuan creates the rich, dimensional colors she has in her tattoos? 🎨

Take a look at some of Sarah’s work alongside the pigments she uses to build each piece. Her color realism style relies on carefully layering and blending different tones to create depth, dimension, and a sense of realism, not just choosing one color and putting it in the skin.

Sarah works with pigments from fusion_ink™ and StarBrite Colors Latinoamerica - giving her a wide range of tones to build everything from subtle transitions and natural flesh tones to rich shadows and vibrant highlights. Both brands offer extensive color palettes, which allows her to fine tune her color choices and create her painterly tattoos.

For Sarah, the magic is in how the colors work together, using warm and cool tones, layering complementary shades, and carefully building contrast to create that signature realism.

Odyssey Art Collective is looking for a Professional Piercer to join our team.

Just to be clear, this isn’t an apprenticeship or a development opportunity. We need someone who’s already highly skilled and ready to jump in.

What We Need:

•At least 5 years of professional piercing experience
•Comfortable working in a mid to high volume environment
•Genuinely great bedside manner, the kind that puts clients at ease
•Solid aseptic technique that holds up to APP standards
•Experience working with high end jewelry

We’re cary’s only APP member studio, and we want someone who still wants to learn and grow alongside a piercing community that pushes each other to be better.
You’ll also be surrounded by an incredible tattoo team and guest artists coming through the shop.

Starting a second large scale color realism piece with Sarah, Jane brought so much personal meaning and history to the design. 🍇🪲🍄‍🟫

Drawing from their shared art history background and the love of the symbolism behind Dutch vanitas paintings, this piece incorporates fruits, mushrooms, and q***r symbols to represent fullness, transformation, and embracing a new chapter at 50.
