🍿🎉 POPCORN FESTIVAL FUN IN THERAPY! 🎉🍿

We’re popping off in therapy! 😋 To celebrate the Popcorn Festival in Casey, we brought the festival vibes right into our therapy department with our very own Popcorn Bar! 🍿

Our residents got to customize their popcorn creations with all kinds of delicious toppings and mix-ins. Because let’s be honest… therapy is always better when there’s snacks involved! 😂

Between scooping, pouring, mixing, choosing toppings, and enjoying the finished product, our popcorn bar was a fun way to work on fine motor skills, coordination, decision-making, and socialization—with a little extra crunch along the way!

🌟 Meet the Team Monday! 🌟

Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Caitlin, a new addition to the Heartland team! 💙 Caitlin joined us in June as our MDS Nurse, bringing with her more than 15 years of healthcare experience in both long term care and hospice.

Her healthcare journey started as a CNA before she went on to earn her RN, giving her a wealth of hands on experience and a true heart for caring for others. 🩺💙

Outside of work, Caitlin says being with her family brings her the most joy. And with five kids, all girls, there’s certainly never a dull moment! ⚾🥎 She spends plenty of time at the ball field cheering on two of her daughters who play softball.

And the newest additions to the family? TWINS! Caitlin and her family welcomed their newest little girls in April! 💕

We’re so happy to have you on the Heartland team, Caitlin!

One thing we practice in therapy is medication management. This is to ensure that our patients are safe to return home and take their medications independently. Here are a few simple tips to make medication management easier:
-Take medication at the same time everyday
-Use a pill organizer
-Set alarms or calendar reminders
