I was called selfish. Anti-vax. Irresponsible. A conspiracy theorist. I was told my children were the reason polio is coming back. I’ve been told to buy a casket because I didnt vaccinate myself or my children. I was told I was the reason others were dying.

I was told to “trust the science,” stop asking questions, and believe that questioning a medical recommendation somehow made me a bad person… or worse, a bad mother.

I’ve lost friends, people I care deeply about, over simply making an informed decision for myself and my family and urging others to do the same.

And I know I’ll probably never get an apology from the people who mocked, judged, or made me feel crazy for simply wanting more information before making decisions about our own bodies and our children.

But I never needed to be proven “right.” I needed people to understand that asking questions was never wrong.

Especially when it came to my own babies.

Medical freedom matters. Informed consent matters. Transparency matters. And no mother should ever be shamed for wanting to know every possible risk and uncertainty before saying yes.

I hope everyone is learning from this. Stop blindly trusting people just because they have a title, a platform, or authority. They can mislead you. They can get things wrong. And at the end of the day, they will never care about you or your children the way YOU do.

Ask the uncomfortable questions. Read beyond the headline. Demand the evidence. Advocate for your family.

Never hand someone else the responsibility of thinking for you.
