🍎 Apple season is one of my favorite parts of fall here in Vermont.

We have so many orchards nearby, and I'm always fascinated by the old apple trees you can still find growing wild in places. This old-fashioned apple cake is one of my favorite ways to use those apples—and your kitchen smells amazing while it's baking. 🍂

🍂 This is the time of year when I start looking at everything coming out of the garden and thinking, “How am I going to use all of this before it goes bad?” 😂

🌿 Garden to table! 🌿

Today I made a batch of nasturtium and chive butter using herbs and edible flowers from my own garden. I already know this is going to be delicious melted over a hot baked potato! 🥔🌸

I’m trying to become more self-sufficient little by little—growing more of our own food, learning to preserve what we grow, and making more things from scratch. There’s something incredibly satisfying about knowing that something as simple as flavored butter started right in my own garden. 💚

I’m always looking for ways to decorate for the holidays without buying *another* box of stuff that I’ll have to store later. 😂

So I’ve been playing around with color-changing smart light bulbs that can completely change the feel of a room with a tap.

❤️ Pink or red for Valentine’s Day
