Celebrate live, local music by the riverside next Thursday evening as Sperryville Community Alliance and RAAC Arts present a performance by Hawlin Callin' at Sperryville River District. Bring your chairs and dancing shoes and join us on the spacious, shaded lawn across from Copper Fox Antiques.
This is the fourth show of the Sperryville Summer Concert Series, which takes place on the third Thursday of each month through September. Gates open at 5pm. The concert starts at 6pm and end at 8pm. Rain date is Thursday, August 22nd.
Hawlin Callin' came together last winter during a jam session at Smiggy's Old Hollow studio. Comprised of Rappahannock musicians who have played together for almost half a century, their songbook draws from the deep well of blues, reggae, backwoods country, Americana, classic rock, and a little bit of bossa nova. Band members include Robert "Smiggy" Smith on guitars and vocals; Vincent Day on guitar, mandolin and vocals; Dinah Pherson on vocals; Andrew Carter on percussion; and Terry Waggener on bass.
Come early for food and drink from New Iberia Kitchen, Fork and Ember, When Worlds Collide LLC, C & C Frozen Treats, Veditz and Company Brewing, and Copper Fox Distillery - Sperryville.
Special thanks to Alex Sharp at Copper Fox, Rappahannock County Virginia Lions Club, Rappahannock News, Sperryville Corner Store, and The MadRapp Recorder.
