AHM Professionals - Deadline May 20, 2026: Submit your Public comment now to protect access to AHM Education. The U.S. Department of Education has issued a proposed rule titled Accountability in Higher Education and Access Through Demand-Driven Workforce Pell: Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) and Earnings Accountability.
This proposed rule would create a federal earnings accountability framework for higher education programs that participate in federal student loan programs. We support transparency and accountability in higher education. However, the proposed earnings metric may not accurately reflect licensed healthcare professions like Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (AHM), where graduates complete national certification and state licensure requirements after graduation and many practitioners build independent or small-business practices over time.
Comments are most effective when they reflect your own professional, educational, patient, or community experience and show how the proposed rule may affect students, patients, healthcare access, and the AHM workforce.
Thanks to Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine for developing the templates for practitioners, faculty, healthcare referrers, AHM businesses or organizations, and patients/community members.
