The past year I have been quietly working on something for me, to expend in the ways I want to expand and start something I can call my own. I’ve felt very lucky having the mentorship I had. Elizabeth Bousman and David Smith were such amazing teachers, friends and leaders. I’m thankful David allowed me to work in his shop for so long, and be so friendly. I couldn’t have done it without either of them! And I will always call them my friends.

But it’s time to announce the opening of my own shop! Something that represents ME. I know times are scary right now, and it’s hard to focus on anything but the negative, insane stuff going on in our country and beyond. But I feel like I have worked my butt off to be able to do this. And I cannot stop now. Although, I couldn’t do it without my partner Zeek as he will be co-owning and helping me keep my head on straight with everything going on. Our goal in opening Divine Tattoo in the beautiful, historical Meskwaki building, is to create a certain standard for myself and visually show everyone who I want to be. I’m not interested in competition just self growth.

I must thank all the clients that have gotten tattooed by me over the past 7 years. There’s no chance I’d able to do this without every single one of you. One of my favorite things about tattooing is collaborating with my clients and really making this experience personal to them. At the end of the day, I’m doing this to create something you feel confident in carrying with you for the rest of your life and creating amazing connections with unique people. I hope to see all my regulars at this new shop and I certainly hope to see lots of new faces too. And of course don’t worry, if you have an appointment scheduled I will directly reach out to you with a new address and keep everyone in the loop, but until I give my official bon voyage I will be at mystictat2.
