Not all hair loss is the same.
Sometimes, the follicle is permanently gone. Other times, the follicle is still there, but it has weakened or gone dormant, meaning it may only produce very fine hair or no visible hair at all.
That difference matters.
If the follicle is no longer present, topical treatments, injections, or oral medication cannot bring it back. But if the follicle is still active or dormant, there may be treatment options to help strengthen and revive it.
Some types of hair loss, like alopecia areata, may also need a more specific approach.
That is why the first step should always be a proper evaluation with an experienced hair loss provider, so you can understand what type of hair loss you have and what treatment plan makes the most sense.
