Frye Lake, Wyoming, approximately 15 miles from Lander, WY, is a location of great importance to women runners in the state. Amy Betchel went missing on July 24, 1997, during a 10k run to test a route for a community race. Betchel was last seen on the Loop Road in Sinks Canyon and never returned home. Despite extensive searches, Betchel's body and the perpetrator remain at large. Fortunately, my friend and I completed our slightly over 10k route, the same route Betchel was testing.
