Nailed it!
What’s the motivation behind what people post on social media?
Often, it’s not really about what they’re sharing. It’s about the need underneath it.
People may be looking for validation, support, understanding, attention, or simply a place to feel seen when they’re hurting.
From a counseling perspective, public sharing can sometimes be an attempt to meet emotional needs that are better addressed through healthy conversations, boundaries, and genuine connection.
Before you post, take a pause and ask yourself:
“What am I hoping to gain from sharing this?”
The answer may tell you more about your own needs than the post itself.
💚 Awareness creates better choices. Better Choices create healing.
