Healing emotional wounds can be scary because it often requires more than letting go of pain, it requires letting go of the story we’ve built around that pain.
Maybe you’ve spent years believing, “I’m the rejected one,” “I’m the victim,” “I’m the angry one,” or “I’m the one who always has to do everything myself.” Those scripts can become familiar, even when they’re hurting us.
Real healing means stepping into the unknown. It means allowing God to rewrite parts of our story and discovering that our wound is not our identity.
The question isn’t just, “Am I willing to heal?” It’s also, “Am I willing to become someone new?”
Sometimes the hardest part of healing is surrendering the script and trusting that a better story is waiting.
