Mercury in Cancer June 1, 2026
The Messenger planet ingresses into the sign of Cancer on June 1st, the sign where it will be retrograde between June 29-July 23.

This entry of Mercury into Cancer helps to support humanity when it comes to getting in touch with our feelings. We can inquire about our heart, how much of a emotional burden we have taken on and what will be necessary to let go of and/or create boundaries to support our own heart.

Mercury joins Venus and Jupiter already in Cancer, emphasizing the upcoming Venus-Jupiter cojunction on June 9. That conjunction along with the Mercury transit through Cancer (including its retrograde period) will be one of the most important astrological events in June through August.

Mercury as a planet represents the mind, communication and our capacity to think and learn in our life. With so much Cancer in the astrological field right now, it can provide some assistance to many of to develop or understand how to work with compassion and empathy with our families, community and all of life around us. A question we can ask ourselves, "How can my heart support the world around me while also protecting my own feelings?"

Also, whe it comes to feelings, it is more than just our emotions, it is the deeper level of "feeling" with our heart and how that extends in relaitonship to humanity. There is a sense of intuitiveness with the water signs that is different from the fire signs and their more instinctual intuitiveness (varies from sign to sign). For Cancer, it is the need for security and to protect and while that can be very insular, it can also evolve beyond bloodlines and tradition.

Mercury will remain in the sign of Cancer until August 9. It'll play a role throughout the next 3 months with the Sun, the eclipse season and the planet Jupiter.

Updates and Preparation for June
I shifted my plans in regards to attending the Salem Mystc Fair this weekend. I decided not to go due to needing to rest as I am feeling a bit sick. But I'll be involved in multiple events coming up in June, July and August (including in Portland, OR June 12-15).

Tomorrow, May 31, 2026, our next Full Moon happens at 9°55’ Sagittarius at 1:45 am PDT The full details can be found here: https://youtu.be/nG0uCbeDjsY

Then we move into a new period to setup what will result in an entirely new major phase of 2026 and beyond. On June 1, Mercury ingresses into the sign of Cancer where it will spend over 2 months in that sign due to its retrograde loop through Cancer.

Also in Cancer, the long-awaited Venus-Jupiter conjunction happens on June 9, with a catch: it squares Eris. This could bring an otherwise beneficial aspect to something more raw, honest and unavoidable. This could help us see the deeper truth of our responsibilities at this time.

Then on June 12-14, Uranus squares the Lunar Nodes, Venus is in Leo and we have our New Moon in Gemini (June 14 on Trump's 80th birthday - there could be a surprise waiting for him - but probably not what he wants). This is a period of great uncertainty, a sense of vision and hope sprinkled with rebirth of curiosity and desire to learn is in the field for humanity.

June 17 is a Venus (Leo) - Pluto (Aquarius) opposition, co-creating a dynamic for a deeper focus upon the shifting currents of our future and what we want in our lives.

Chiron is in Ta**us on June 19 and then Solstice takes place on June 20. This is an importnat time to realize how and what we value and care about. It is a time to also honor that we are all kindred and Earth is meant to be for us to care for.

On June 25, the Sun squares Neptune, reflecting how things have evolved since March and to trust the path. Then at the end of the month, Mars ingresses into Gemini on the 28th and a massively important day of June 29th with a Full Moon in Capricorn, beginning of Mercury Retrograde and Jupiter ingresses into the sign of Leo. Full Moon on May 31, 2026
Our 2nd Full Moon of May takes place on the 31st at 1:45 am PDT at 9°55’ Sagittarius and conjunct the star Antares, the Heart of the Scorpion constellation.

One of the contemporary ways of describing this is as a Blue Moon, the 2nd Full Moon of the calendar month. But the original definition of the Blue Moon is having 4 Full Moons in a season, such as spring. Like January 1st being the start of a calendar year, this modern definition of a Blue Moon is arbitrary and holds no roots wth the motions of the Earth and planets.

Putting aside the debate about a Blue Moon (the Moon is not actually Blue), this Full Moon is powerful due to its conjunction with the star Antares. This stars holds the energy of transmutation of toxins into medicine. It connects us to the depths of our soul, opening us up to the treasures that lie within.

In the sign of Sagittarius, this Full Moon transmits the light of knowledge and truth already within us to our hearts and minds. The call to adventure brings us to a new horizon in time and space. It is a chance to prepare our inner fire, invoke and invite our spirit guides to guide us while also tapping into our intuition.

What will it reveal? What meaning, what truths will come from these discoveries as we blaze new trails? A fiery spark of hope and inspiration is possible when casting ourselves toward the horizon and beyond. This includes both the outer physical world and the mystical space within.

Today, May 28, 2026 at 8:02pm PDT, Venus squares Saturn at 11°59’ of Cancer/Aries. This is the first-quarter square from the original conjunction back on March 8th 2°38’ Aries. This is part of a longer cycle from 2025-27.

This square contiues the astrological narrative that was seeded in the early degrees of Aries that also involved Neptune and the Saturn-Neptune conjunction back on Feb 20, 2026. Venus conjuncted Neptune the day before it conjuncted Saturn, bringing Venus into this powerful narrative and the long-winded Aries stellium that began to form in February (receding only in May).

If we recall the major events that were building up last year and in January/February as we were closing in on the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, we've experienced much greater awareness of the levers of power in the world and how they can breakdown.

Aries, as a sign, helps to make things more sharply felt in what we desire to do for our mission in life or help us focus upon our purpose. The combination of Saturn and Neptune can help make that which is intangible like an idea or vision into a semblance of reality.

With Venus squaring Saturn, this adds a tension between the receptive Venusian energy in Cancer, reflecting what needs to be done to care for humanity and the Saturn in Aries looking to defend justice, order and critical knowledge to carry us through in a sustainable and supportive manner. Together, we are about accountability, compassion, decisiveness, results and standing up for what will benefit humanity for future generations. Neptune's energy added to this may make things more nebulous as to what it will take, but the benefit of it is to help us trust the path and let go of the things that are holding us back.

This is a day that is a reminder that the nations and systems rise and fall and it is the greater populace of the planet that really holds the energy to decide the humanity's path. We've surrendered the "power" to the systems in place, but this square helps us tune in to step into the necessary, heartful work to co-create what we want and not what propaganda states we should be. Authenticity is a key to this ongoing initiation for humanity.

June is almost here! There are a lot of big aspects coming up in June and beyond that will provide us the next major astrological wave for humanity.

The month of June enhances the Cancerian nurturing qualities with Mercury into Cancer, a Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Cancer and the Solstice on June 21. The Cancerian qualities are the most important ones during the month of June

But fire energy gets ignited with Venus entering Leo on June 13 and Jupiter in Leo on June 29/30. A strong creative fire is unleashed with expressive overtones of the feminine throughout the month and in Leo as well. Voices will matter with Leo and being bold and courageous will help out as the energies shift into Leo.

Chiron transitions into the sign of Ta**us on June 19th, showing us the wounds of excess materialism, environmental issues and our relationship to what we value. Chiron spends 3 months in Ta**us before retrograding back into Aries in Sept.

This is also the start of Mercury spending over 2 months in Cancer due to its retrograde loop through Cancer June 29-July 23.

The New Moon is in Gemini on June 14, Venus and Pluto are opposite on the 17th and June 29 features the Full Moon in Capricorn, Mercury Retrograde and Jupiter in Leo.

Mars squares Pluto on May 25, 2026
In one of the most important aspects of May, the red planet will square Pluto at 05°25’ Ta**us/Aquarius at 9:02 pm PDT on May 25, 2026. This is the first-quarter turn of the Mars-Pluto cycle that began on January 27, 2026, at 03°34’ Aquarius.

What was seeded during that time in January is now making a hard turn with greater tension between the need to do a very deep transformation of our consciousness and the desire to take action to keep our comforts and pleasures in life (along with the polarity between the mind and body). Something needs to be sacrificed in order to break apart stagnant growth and spaces that are too comfortable.

This square does not mean a repeat of the same thing in January, but it reflects a time of a significant decision to be made by humanity. This is the kind of aspect where the stuff that happens can initially be seen as either in a negative light because of a future we need to face or as as the vaneer of comforts and stability that ends up being highly unstable and could be prone to falling apart not long afterwards

Mars is an archetypal force that wants to take action but in Ta**us, the stubbornness can be telling as a reflection of our comforts. Where Mars can shine on a deeper level is as a guardian of the Earth. Perhaps this energy of the square can be repurposed for protections of Earth itself.

May 25 will end the concentrated period of astrological transitions before the next period in June.

Mars will then have its opposition with Pluto on October 3, 2026, at 03°06’ Leo-Aquarius.

In between, Mars will conjunct Uranus on July 3/4 and for the first time in Gemini since the 1940s. This will be a seed of something novel for humanity in a surprising direction, or at least, tat is the intent.

Sun-Uranus Conjunction in Gemini May 22, 2026
The Sun will meet with Uranus for the first time in the sign of Gemini since June 17, 1948, prior to Uranus ingressing into Cancer the next year. On May 22, 2026, the Sun and Uranus conjunct at 01°30’ Gemini at 7:26 am PDT.

We can think of this conjunction as an additional switch that is activated for Uranus, the second one since Uranus moved into the sign of Gemini. For humanity, it is revolutionary time for accessing knowledge, education, communication technologies along with the flip side of this which can lead to more misinformation and propaganda campaigns that can sometimes support lies and covers for deeper truths.

The last time the Sun and Uranus conjuncted, we were a few weeks away from the Trinity test of the first atomic bomb in the world. We were on the cusp of the nuclear/atomic age. During the time period of Uranus in Gemini in the 1940s, it also led to the first real development of computer technology and other adjacent breakthroughs in communications.

Uranus' journey into Gemini coinsides with the ongoing Pluto transit in Aquarius and their 2 planets upcoming series of trines between July 2026 and early 2029, which will also involve Neptune in Aries.

On a personal level, this is a time to work with our active imagination and be open to learning something new. How can we break from our routine? Perhaps reach out to people spontaneously for specific inquiries? Maybe we want to write or record something important while letting our minds "play" in the stream of consciousness that flows out?

Many astrologers, including me, are looking toward the first of a series of Mars conjunctions with Uranus in Gemini every 2 years beginning on July 3/4 as the true beginning of the Uranus in Gemini era. This could speak to the May 22 Sun-Uranus conjunction potentially as the lighter of a long fuse that could release Uranus' energy with Mars in July and beyond. It doesn't have to be explosive as this can sometimes result in peaceful breakthroughs at times (which has happened on occasion with Mars-Uranus).

Sun in Gemini May 20, 2026
The Sun will ingress into tropical (temporal) sign of Gemini on May 20, 2026 at 5:36 pm PDT. In the sky, this is close to where the "seven sisters" of the stars of Pleiades are located, marking the boundary between Ta**us and Gemini.

It’s the season of Gemini, which brings in an expansion of curiosity, exploration of knowledge, learning and youthful play. Gemini is an air element archetype that desires to know all that is around it, within the mind and communicate that with the world.

During these days of Gemini, it may be of help in stimulating our own curiosity about the world and gaining perspective from numerous frames of mind. This sign is the one that best symbolizes the rainbow flag of all expressions.

Gemini opens up our minds through a wide variety of roles we can play on the stage of life. Gemini desires to be a free-spirit, emboldened through the mind to create, write and transmit information to the masses.

A major highlight of the Sun's transit through Gemini is 2nd Full Moon this month on May 31st. It is a Full Moon that will be in Sagittarius conjuncting the star Antares while the Sun is conjunct the star Aldebaran. Both stars reside at 10 degrees of Sagittarius and Gemini, nearly exactly opposite each other. When one of those stars rise, the other is always setting (like the exact Full Moon and Sun).

The Sun will remain in Gemini until June 21st, which is Solstice and when the Sun reaches zero degrees of Cancer in the tropical (temporal) zodiac.

Venus and Mars enter New Signs May 18, 2026 (sextile)
A day after Mercury enters Gemini, Venus ingresses into the sign of Cancer while Mars ingresses into the sign of Ta**us, all on May 18. The two planets will then sextile 00°13’ Ta**us / Cancer on the same day.

Mars is first to enter its new sign of Ta**us at 3:25 pm PDT. This breaks open the stellium in Aries that has persisted for several weeks.

Mars in Ta**us is about the taking action in slowing down in the physical realm. It is about utilizing one’s senses to connect with the world around us. It is a time to discover the natural beauty, pleasures and comforts within and without. Mars will square Pluto on May 25 and conjunct Algol on June 23 during its transit through Ta**us, making it a very important transit. Mars will stay in the sign of Ta**us until June 28.

Less than 3 hours later at 6:05pm PDT, Venus goes into the sign of Cancer. Venus symbolizes the receptive feminine force and will sextile Mars at 10:37 pm PDT 00°13’ Cancer/Ta**us.

This sextile of Venus and Mars shows a more cooperative energy emerging between the 2 planets, especially in heart and intimacy of archetypal expressions. But it is also very grounding and earthy that gets us into our own 5 senses and understanidng what our responsibilities are toward those we care for.

Venus’ transit through Cancer elevates the need or humanity to understand we are a global family and one that is not just about our bloodlines.

This period of Venus in Cancer will help balance out the other archetypes with a less aggressive and more receptive energies to bring people together. However, it is possible for people to become more insular and withdrawn during this time.

When Venus enters Cancer, the Moon will be only ½ degree from Venus. The Moon and Venus conjunct at 00°02’ Cancer, the point in the sky when the Sun reaches the June Solstice. This symbolizes the 4th Gate (Heart) of Venus’ Ascending phase of the synodic cycle. The Moon will also only be 2 degrees from the sextile between Mars and Venus later in the day.

Venus will have one of the more promising aspects in Cancer when it conjuncts Jupiter on June 9th at 25°46’ Cancer. This will be a very conjunction as it will also square Eris 25°48’ Aries, a extremely close square that is near-exact.

Venus will remain in the sign of Cancer until June 13, 2026.
