The Principle of Control:
We do not have ”CONTROL” over external circumstances in our life, therefore the principle of Control in Pilates can be very welcoming.
In a world of kaos Control provides empowerment when executing a Pilates movement. To reap the benefits and prevent injury each exercise must be executed with Control.
By taking Control of your mind, muscles, and bones through movement you take Control of your body and your health.
Since the only thing we can Control is ourselves, Control results in freedom, letting go of disempowering muscular habits or patterns and corresponding belief systems.
This newfound sense of Control is a form of self knowledge. Taking Control results in the release of self limiting beliefs that have kept us locked in painful unworkable life patterns.
We allow circumstances to Control us. Circumstances change when we open up physically and mentally, to the possibilities.
Pilates meets you at the level you are currently at, and the greatest reward is that you will get to know yourself and your body.
You progress by building on what you are learning, enhancing self knowledge step by step as you relinquish habitual patterns of stress and the reactionary flight or fight responses to life situations.
When you enter into a pilates session you leave your troubles at the door. It is a time to focus on yourself.
As you consciously choose to release your mind from needless distractions and open up to what is available within yourself there is a cleansing and renewal of body, mind and spirit.
