Meet Emma, our newest pharmacy resident! 💙💚 A pharmacy resident is a licensed pharmacist completing an organized, postgraduate training program to gain advanced clinical and operational experience. We’re so happy Emma chose to spend her residency with us over the next year. 💚

We asked Emma a few questions so you can get to know her a little better:

💚 Why community pharmacy?
“I have always admired the position of community pharmacists as the most accessible healthcare providers. Being able to meet people exactly where they are is something I am passionate about!”
💙 Favorite part of pharmacy so far?
“This community is very interconnected and tight-knit. I’ve loved seeing the relationships that have been built and are maintained by the staff and patients. I am excited to hopefully become just as connected!”
💚 What projects are you excited about?
“We are hoping to create a service for older adults where they can have a private meeting with one of our pharmacists to review their entire medication and supplement list. I think this is an area of unmet need that will be beneficial for many.”
💙 Pharmacy or health tip?
“Cold and flu season is coming up! Here are a few things to remember: practice good hand hygiene, be aware of duplicate ingredients in OTC combination cold and flu products, and stay up to date on vaccines!”
💚 Fun facts!?
Outside of pharmacy, Emma enjoys pickleball, running, and recently taking up watercolor painting. She and her husband also have two mischievous cats, Gigi and Frankie, who always keep them entertained. 🐱🐱

SCHOOL IS BACK! ✏️📚

Parents are celebrating. Kids are adjusting. Teachers are caffeinating. 😂 ☕️ And all those back-to-school germs are getting ready to make the rounds!

A few friendly reminders from your local pharmacy as everyone heads back to the classroom:

🧼 Wash those hands! Soap and water is still one of the easiest ways to stop germs from spreading.
💧 Hydrate. Send a water bottle with your child and remind them to actually drink it.
😴 Get back on a sleep schedule. Growing brains (and immune systems!) need rest.
🥗 Fuel up with regular meals and a variety of nutritious foods.
🤧 Teach the elbow cough and remind kids not to share drinks, utensils or lip balm.
💉 Check on vaccines and flu shots. Back-to-school season is a great time to make sure everyone is up to date.
💊 Restock the medicine cabinet before the first fever, cough or runny nose shows up.

And parents… wash your hands too. They’re bringing home more than homework. 😉🦠 Here’s to a happy, healthy school year! 💙💚

Our pharmacy resident, Emma, recently joined Gather Church in Centralia for International Overdose Awareness Day, helping distribute naloxone education and connect community members with lifesaving resources.

Events like this remind us that pharmacists and pharmacy teams have an important role to play beyond the pharmacy counter — educating, supporting, and meeting people where they are. 💜
