NEW MONTH. NEW GOALS. NEW BOUNDARIES. 🌿
September is a time to bring greater awareness to mental health and su***de prevention—and part of protecting our mental health is learning how to set healthy boundaries.
Boundaries are not walls.
I like to think of them more like windows—we decide what we allow in, what we let out, and when it’s time to close them.
Healthy boundaries give us permission to take inventory of our lives:
What am I allowing access to my peace?
What thoughts am I continuing to entertain?
What behaviors have I outgrown?
What relationships nourish me—and which ones consistently drain me?
What do I need to let go of to make room for the person I am becoming?
Everything and everyone does not deserve unlimited access to you.
Stop giving access like you’re free Wi-Fi.
My Wi-Fi login is RESPECT.
The password is TRUST.
Both are earned. And once either is broken, access may change—and sometimes it should.
Protecting your peace is not selfish.
Protecting your energy is not rude.
Saying “No, not this time” does not require an apology.
And you do not have to exhaust yourself explaining who you are, what you meant, or why you made a decision to people who have already made up their minds about you.
This month, make one of your goals to become more intentional about ACCESS.
Let in the people, thoughts, habits and experiences that move you toward becoming your best self.
Let go of what no longer serves you.
Boundaries don't keep everyone out. They help us become more intentional about what—and who—we let in.
Here’s to a new month of protecting our peace, honoring our mental health, and choosing ourselves with intention. 💚
