It’s apples to oranges. Two completely separate jobs with entirely different care.
Gynecologists are great, but unless they explicitly tell you that they’ve continued to pursue midlife and menopause education, that’s not training that anyone gets in medical or nursing school outside of a quick once over. Peri/menopause specialists take extra courses, classes, seminars, certifications — all to specifically work with women in midlife. In-depth hormone knowledge, connections and comorbidities, what those might look like symptomatically and in lab work, how to personalize care plans with incredible nuance, and so on.
Gynecologists are great. They have a super important job. But I’d never ask a bakery to make me a pizza. They probably could, but it won’t be as good as if I asked a pizza shop.
Book with a specialist, I promise you’ll feel the difference.
