Some dogs show a preference for one paw over the other 🐶

Many dogs display a tendency to favor one paw when performing tasks such as reaching for food or stepping onto objects. This is known as canine laterality. It’s not exactly the same as human handedness and can vary depending on the task and context.

Research shows that paw preference is not consistent across all dogs or all situations—some dogs show a clear bias, while others do not show a strong preference at all.

Scientists have also explored possible links between paw preference and factors like temperament, stress response, or problem-solving style, but findings are still mixed and not fully conclusive.

Next time your dog is going down the stairs or playing with a toy, see if you notice any patterns in how they use their paws—just for fun! 🐾

Dogs have incredibly powerful senses that can detect approaching storms long before humans can.

- They can hear low-frequency rumbles and distant thunder long before us.
- They feel drops in atmospheric pressure through their inner ears.
- Static electricity builds up in their fur before storms, which can make them restless or anxious.
- They can even detect the metallic smell of ozone produced by lightning.

So if your dog suddenly starts pacing, hiding, or acting clingy, they may already know a storm is on the way!
