7th Sunday of Beautiful Easter. . .

Guidance and Direction Prayer. . .
Gracious Father, please fill me with your Holy Spirit to lead me. You said that your Spirit will teach me all things and guide me into all truth. I ask you for guidance and direction now Lord and pray that you would answer my request. You are a perfectly good Father who only ever gives good gifts to his children. When I become overwhelmed, please give me the peace that surpasses all understanding. Clear my mind to follow you with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

7th Week of Beautiful Easter. . .

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Prayer. . .

O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke thy most powerful name, which is the safeguard of the  living and the salvation of the dying. O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary, let thy name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, O Blessed Lady,  to help me whenever I call on thee, for, in all my needs, in all my temptations I shall never cease to call on thee, ever repeating thy  sacred name, Mary, Mary.
Amen

6th Friday of Beautiful Easter. . .

MICROSIGNS. . .

"Jacques Maritain emphasizes the microsignes---the microsigns--of a Christian love that acts without awareness and is received without special or detailed awareness--the human and unconscious "aura" of a contemplative love that is simply there. How does one dare to undertake this? This idea of presence in and to the world is fundamental: "There are no longer walls, but the demands of a constantly purified love for one's fellow being which protects and shelters their contemplation of love."

~ from the Journals of Thomas Merton. Sept. 20, 1966, VI. 137-8.

6th Thursday of Beautiful Easter. . .

Power of the truth. . .

"The encounter with beauty can become the wound of the arrow that strikes the soul and thus makes it see clearly so that henceforth it has criteria, is based on what it has experienced, purification of the heart brings us face to face with beauty, or at least with a ray of it. In this way it brings us into contact with the power of the truth. ..For faith to grow today, we must lead ourselves and the persons we meet to encounter the saints and to come in contact with the beautiful."

6th Wednesday of Beautiful Easter. . .

The Gospel is alive and active. . .

"the cultural settings of different ages may change dramatically, but two things remain the same in every place and in every time: the human heart's yearning for happiness and the mission of the Church. In fact, the mission of the Church is God's direct and intimate response to the human heart's unceasing desire for happiness.
It is essential that we remind ourselves that Christ did not entrust the church with social, political, or economic mission, but with a mission that is primarily spiritual. The mission of the Church is to proclaim the Gospel to the people of every nation in every age. At the same time, as we live out this mission, it can and should impact the social, political, and economic order of the socieities in which Christians live--indeed, every aspect of our lives. When we allow the Gospel to transform the way we live and love and work, it elevates every honest human endeavor and every aspect of society. The Gospel is alive and active. It has the power to transform our lives, our communities, our nations, and even the whole world."

6th Tuesday of Beautiful Easter. . .

SPLENDOR of TRUTH. . .

"No one can escape from the fundamental questions: What must I do? How do I distinguish good from evil? The answer is only possible thanks to the splendor of the truth which shines forth deep within the human spirit, as the Psalmist bears witness: 'There are many who say: 'O that we might see some good! Let the light of your face shine on us, O Lord,' " (Ps. 4:6).

The light of God's face shines in all its beauty on the countenance of Jesus Christ, 'the image of the invisible God, the 'reflection of God's glory, 'full of grace and truth."
