The part of small business nobody really talks about…

LATE nights. Packing orders. Just the two of us trying to build something we believe in.

Every box that goes out still means something to us.

Someone saw our idea.
Someone understood it.
Someone decided to give it a try.

So yeah… we still pack them ourselves.

Of course you wouldn’t! Which is why it takes so long for children to learn to wipe. And, just because they can wipe, doesn’t mean they are wiping well! Visual feedback is key in life skill mastery and helps them achieve true bathroom independence faster than ever before. 🚽🪞✨

This may look scripted… but I promise it wasn’t. 😂

My son wanted to make some content, so I asked him what he wanted to say. This is what he came up with and of course, little sister had to join in. 😂📣

This is who we are. A real family that came up with an idea to solve a real problem and even our kids love it because it gives them more independence and privacy in the bathroom.

As a dad, a mom, and inventors, it doesn’t get much better than that.

You can’t wipe what you can’t see.™ 🪞🚽

There are so many things no one tells you before you decide to bring an idea to life.

Everyone sees the finished product, but they don’t see the late nights, the learning curve, the risk, the boxes taking over your house, or all the jobs you suddenly have to learn how to do.

Building something from nothing has been one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, but it’s also been one of the most rewarding.

If you’re working on an idea, don’t let the unknown stop you. You’ll learn as you go, you’ll make mistakes, and you’ll grow because of them.

Hi! I’m Dana, co-founder of Ehde, wife, mom, and one of the people behind The Original Toilet Mirror.

We’ve had a lot of new faces join us lately, so I thought it was a good time to reintroduce ourselves and share a little about why this product means so much to our family.

The Original Toilet Mirror started with a really simple problem in our own home: teaching our kids how to wipe themselves properly.

As parents, we want our kids to become independent, but bathroom independence is one of those milestones that can be really difficult to teach. How do you teach a child to clean something they can’t see?

Adding a mirror changed that for our family.

It gave our kids the ability to actually see what they were doing, learn how to properly clean themselves, and most importantly, feel confident doing it on their own.

As a mom, watching that independence grow has been pretty incredible. ♥️

What started as a solution for our own family has grown into something we now get to share with other parents and families every day.

Why let kids struggle with something they can’t see, when a mirror can finally show them what they’re doing?

We use mirrors every day to teach children how to brush their teeth, wash their faces, style their hair, and even make funny faces while learning.

But when it comes to wiping…we expect them to figure it out by feel alone.

That’s one of the biggest reasons kids struggle with independence after potty training.

When they can actually see what they’re doing, everything changes.
