Some people come to work and simply do a job… and then there are people like Tammy Koser, who become part of the heart, history, and family of a facility. 🥹❤️

Today, Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center celebrates an incredible milestone as we honor Tammy Koser for 45 YEARS of dedicated service! 🎉👏

Tammy’s story with our center began on November 12, 1980, when she was just a junior in high school and started working here as a CNA. What makes her story even more remarkable? Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehab has been the one and only workplace Tammy has ever called home. 🏡❤️

For decades, Tammy devoted herself to caring for our residents and supporting her coworkers. Following COVID, she transitioned into her current role as our full-time Medical Supply Coordinator/Ancillary, continuing to make an impact behind the scenes and helping ensure our teams have what they need to provide exceptional care.

Think about everything that can change in 45 years—the people, technology, healthcare, and the world around us. Yet through it all, Tammy remained a constant at Chambersburg. Her dedication, loyalty, knowledge, and service have become woven into the history of our center.

🎂🎈 We recently had the privilege of holding a retirement celebration in Tammy’s honor, surrounded by those who wanted to thank her for the countless contributions she has made throughout her remarkable career.

Tammy, 45 years can never be summed up in one post. Thank you for every resident you cared for, every coworker you helped, every lesson you shared, and every year you chose to make Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center your home away from home.

Today, we are excited to celebrate Will Nicholson as he takes the next step in his leadership journey at Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation! 👏

Since joining our team in June 2025 as Senior Human Resources Director, Will has made a tremendous impact on our center. Through strategic recruitment, retention initiatives, staff engagement, and a relentless commitment to building our team, Will helped lead Chambersburg to an incredible milestone — by February 2026, Chambersburg became the largest building in PA22 to achieve Agency Free status across all three shifts! 🎉

Now, Will is stepping into the Administrator-in-Training (AIT) Program — an exciting opportunity designed to develop the knowledge, leadership skills, and operational expertise necessary to successfully lead a skilled nursing center. Through this program, Will will gain hands-on experience across all areas of long-term care operations and prepare to sit for the two examinations required to become a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA). 🏆

💬 What made you want to take this next step into your career in pursuing AIT and what do you hope to accomplish as an Administrator?

"Taking this next step into AIT is about continuing to grow beyond the HR function and becoming a well-rounded healthcare leader. My experience in Human Resources has shown me how important people, culture, staffing, and strong leadership are to the success of a nursing center. I want to take everything I've learned and expand that knowledge into clinical, financial, operational, and regulatory leadership.

My goal as an Administrator is to create an environment where our residents receive exceptional care, our employees feel valued and supported, and our leadership team is empowered to succeed. I want to build upon what we've accomplished at Chambersburg, continue developing great leaders, and ultimately become an Administrator who makes a lasting difference for both our residents and our team."

Through her dedication, reliability, experience, and commitment to providing exceptional care to our residents, Summer has demonstrated the qualities that made her an excellent candidate for this exciting career advancement.

We are excited to welcome Patricia "Trish" Myers, RN, to the Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation leadership team as our newest MDS Coordinator! Trish joins us through an internal transfer from our Gettysburg center, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and clinical reimbursement expertise.

Trish has served as a Clinical Reimbursement Coordinator and Skin Health Team Lead, where she excelled in MDS completion, assessment scheduling, reimbursement coordination, quality measure oversight, interdisciplinary collaboration, wound care documentation, utilization management meetings, and performance reporting. Her proven success in these areas made her an outstanding candidate to bring her talents to Chambersburg.

With a strong background as a Registered Nurse in rehabilitation, a passion for resident-centered care, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning, Trish embodies the leadership and clinical excellence we value. Please join us in welcoming Kayla Kolva, LPN, to the Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation management team as our new MDS Coordinator!

Kayla brings a strong clinical background with experience in short-term rehabilitation, post-acute care, family medicine, memory care, and long-term care. Her hands-on expertise includes resident assessments, admissions and discharges, wound care, medication management, care coordination, and monitoring changes in resident conditions—making her exceptionally qualified for this important leadership role.

In addition to earning her Practical Nursing diploma, Kayla graduated with both the Clinical Practice Award and Perfect Attendance Award. She is also a CPR & First Aid Instructor, IV certified, and brings 8 years of PointClickCare experience, providing a strong foundation for excellence in MDS coordination and resident-centered care.

Please join us in congratulating Makayela Miller, LPN, on her well-earned promotion to Arcadia Unit Manager at Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation!

Makayela joined our team as a Float Cart Nurse, where she quickly distinguished herself through her exceptional leadership, clinical expertise, and compassionate approach to resident care. Her experience providing care to both geriatric and pediatric populations, combined with her strong critical thinking, care planning knowledge, excellent communication, and time management skills, made her a standout leader. She also holds a Dementia Friendly Certification, further demonstrating her passion for providing specialized, person-centered care to residents living with dementia.

Throughout her time with us, Makayela has consistently led by example, supporting her fellow caregivers while ensuring high-quality care for every resident.
